i was wrong
so it's not an Isuzu Elf platform
This specific unit has a Nissan TD42 engine (4200cc, diesel) and transmission, with an original front and rear differential, unique to the legendary Nissan Patrol / Safari. It also has 4-wheel drive from the said vehicle.
and they're gonna put 22 passengers in that "jeepney"?
The capacity varies, since we offer 2 types of interior layouts. Following the traditional Sarao Motors Inc. Jeep, which is the bench type seating, we can occupy 22 passengers, PLUS STANDING. For the forward-facing seats, we can occupy more or less 14 passengers, PLUS STANDING.

yeah
it's a one-off
they call it a prototype as if they'll be mass producing some time later
how are they gonna mass produce that thing?
are they gonna buy all the local 2nd hand Nissan Patrols out there?
are they gonna look for used Patrol engines and drivetrains in Japan?
are they gonna invest in a manufacturing plant?
or are they gonna build each one by hand in a shop on a per order basis?
