Ngayon ko lang nalaman na significant pala effect ng wiper na magtotouch sa windshield na mainit. Akala ko dati theoretical lang yun but there seems to be lots of anecdotal evidence in this thread.
Nagbabalak kasi akong palitan ng NWB wipers yung Ranger ko. Yung wiper niya kasi yung old school pa, hindi yung bagong design (dunno what you call it, basta yung nasa Altis/Camry).
4 months palang kasi yung wiper ko pero may times na medyo may natitira pag humagod kasi hindi napupunasan yung blade after a car wash so kahit malinis yung windshield, may tira sa wiper blade. Not sure how to properly clean it since i fear that wiping a pranela to clean the blade might cause it to be brittle and get torn.

I've seen no increase in wiper lifespan when using those stands. Either way, the rubber loses its malleability from exposure to the elements... particularly UV.
Whether it rests on the windshield or not, makes little difference. You will still need to replace them every 2-3 years.
