Baka makuha ang reading ng ibang sasakyan around the car.
It might lead to confusion. Sa formula 1 yata meron sila.
Or baka ma virus diagnostic machine.Last edited by 4JGtootsie; December 30th, 2007 at 10:03 AM.

its true that some manufacturers have their own diff. type of scanners. but they all do the same purpose. also, you can still use a universal type Scanner so that you can use it to almost all makes and models, 1996-present. (just like a Snap-On MODIS or my Snap-On Scan Check scanners)
here in the US, its against the Law for Auto Manufacturers for them to have only 1 specific scanner. thats why they have OBD-II scanners (or code readers) available to the public. all automotive parts stores, shops, service stations, etc. has easy access on all OBD-II scan tools. wether you have an American or a Japanese & European Import. you can use one generic scanner to check the OBD-II system. specially "Check Engine Lights", "Service Engine Soon lights", etc..
but then again, I am not sure if these rules (laws, regulations, etc..) can apply to all Vehicles (American, Japanese, European) that are sold overseas.
if its bought from the US, chance are that you can use it on all Vehicles 1996-present. just make sure the scanner is up to date and not fake!
in reality (specially here in the US) if you have a good "name brand" OBD-II scanner (or code reader) you can almost use it on all Vehicles, as long as the Vehicle has a Diagnostic Port to connect the scanner (scan tool, code reader.. or whatever other people calls it).
also, about F1.. they have their own system for troubleshooting, tuning, etc. also not all teams use the same Engine Management Systems. and one more thing, theres no way that a OBD system could get a "virus" from a OBD scanner.
aite, peace.

If you have diagnosis, suggestions or recommendations sana matulungan natin.Last edited by 4JGtootsie; December 30th, 2007 at 06:43 PM.

sir kbr parang na miss mo ng kaunti yun post ko na early obd2 free ang manufacturer sa choice ng kanilang communications. kaya nagkaroon ng generic ay na mandate ng us na i-open ng manufacturer sa public ang kanilang communication systems (makikita mo ngayon ito sa kanilang web sites) kaya if ever you will use a generic scanner ay ma note mo na before reading the codes or sensor parameters ay try muna determine ng scanner or reader ang type ng communication na gamit ng vehicle.kaya still you will find codes (P1xxx) na meaning manufacture specific codes, not all are P0xxx which are generic codes. regarding naman sa problem ko sa 4jx1 it's ob2 (as proven by the j1962 dlc) ang problem is i cant establish communication w/ the pcm though the scanner can determine the communication it uses, it's a gm class2 communication (j1850 vpw) i'm positive that the pcm is capable of communicating since i can retreive fault codes by grounding the communication line ang problem ko lang ay to look a scanner that can read the pcm (gm tech2 can't read it too, so i might just need an isuzu card for the tech2 to communicate)

Malamang kailangan mo ng Isuzu card....But try mo muna yung sa NAO... parang meron dun para sa isuzu. build mo lang yung vehicle mo as per VIN...di ko pa nagamit yung Isuzu card, kasi dati 2 lang ang kadalasang ginagamit ko, yung NAO at Holden.... sa Chev LUV which is = to DMAX, NAO card yung gamit ko... malamang dun din yung para sa Trooper....
If wala ka talagang makuhang DTC...try mo na lang by Symptoms diag. pero ayos sana pag mabasa yung trim.... at least alam natin kung ano ang status ng A/F....

yes sir sonjeffrey kailangan talaga ma read ang fuel trim, ang read the sensors activities, i beleive that the culprit is water mixing with the exhaust or running lean but i still need to know the map reading, fuel pressures, injector pulse width, etc to know what the air or fuel are doing. hopefully i can find a scanner that can do the task otherwise i'll have to do it the hard way. i can't also bring it to a gas analyzer to check on the exhaust, baka ma book agad ng smoke belching, he he. happy new year.....

I have seen the unit. The big problem of t2ern is the right scan tool that will read the data inside the computer box. Is there another way or device that can read it aside from the tech2/isuzu card? My diagnosis is low compression, insufficient injector pressure, timing of injection incorrect.
