August 28th, 2006 11:12 PM #22when you tighten up the tappets you tend to loose a little bit of power since the engine does not tend to rev as freely. check out your gas consumption tho... it should improve quite a bit
if you prefer having the power we can just loosen it up again

September 1st, 2006 01:49 AM #26I had the same experience before...nag pa strip to metal ako.....tapos pina liha ko ang bubong....I noticed when I looked closely kahit makinis na ang metal after sanding....may discoloration na...hindi na uniform ang color ng sanded metal sheet of d roofing....buti nadiscover ko kasi they were about to apply d primer on it....e ang discoloration sign na yan na ang rust and oxidation has already penetrated deep into the metal.....so pagpininturahan mo....considering na ang area...roof...is exposed to all the types of weather elements.....bubukol talaga uli yan in a short period of time......What I did i scouted for repair shops na suki ng mga Insurance companies...I found one in Honda Cars San Pablo City...after a tip from one of their technicians....I saw mountains of scrap car sidings , doors, roofs trunks, bumpers...etc na tinanggal sa mga nirepair na nabangga na cars.....nag pacutout from a surplus part a portion of the roof (actually may konting dent...inayos lng ng latero....) and replaced the rusted part of my roof.......eureka...until now...5 years na wala pang bukol.....smootha pa rin ang paint ko.... I used also all-Sikkens paint from primer to top coat.... tingin ko ang top coat also has something to do with preventing moisture to seep in....they used Autoclear plus II of sikkens....2 coats (polyurethane wet look paint).......

AH ok so getting from another body part, not necessarily from Honda cars (can be toyota i guess) will work as long as the metal sheet is not exposed nor shows sign of rusting?

September 2nd, 2006 10:57 AM #28Thing is, di kasi sa ibabaw nag-sstart yung rusting sa EG roof, kundi sa ilallim (dun nga sa part where the roof sheet metal and the center braces meet)... maaring mapakintab nang husto yung ibabaw ng roof, but sa ilalim may kalawang pa rin. Dapat talaga malagyan ng paddings in between them when replacing the sheel metal.
Yung local EGs (pero yung mga last batches ok na sila) wala nga kasi nung padding sa pagitan ng roof sheet metal and center bracings.

September 2nd, 2006 10:05 PM #30actually, yung rusting issue isn't just with the roof of the EG... pati sa may quarter panels.... ganun din kasi yung sa quarter panels... nothing in between the sheet metal and support braces.
