    Why not just mount the fire extinguisher in the trunk and have it piped into the engine bay with a trigger switch in the passenger area?

    Because the plumbing for that is no joke, and there are few people who can do it reliably and professionally. One of them, Danny Rellantes (I think that's his name) charges a whole lot. Worth it, but I can't give/pay what I don't have.
