boybi, kailangan ng student visa. The last time I checked, student visa ang gamit ng mga terrorist sa 9/11. Having said that, she's going to need a lot of luck dahil mas mahigpit na ang student visa ngayon.
Lets not underestimate the US consuls. Ganito ang iisipin on kapatid:
"Applying for a student visa from a tourist who's visa is expiring soon. How odd."
Ang dapat nyang gawin talaga kapatid eh pumunta sa lawyer.
Yung mga palusot na naiisip natin, buking na ng US Embassy.

July 13th, 2005 10:00 AM #28if you don't want to pay for a lawyer, might as well visit the nearest us immigration office and ask them what your options are. better to be honest than to end up blackballed from returning.

my brother and his family went to the us 2 years ago as a tourist. they hired a lawyer to process their papers. They already spent around USD10,000 to this lawyer and so far what he's got is:
1. Authentic SSS number (original not pirated, legal)
2. Drivers License
The lawyer promised to give his wife her own SSS number and driver's license.
His current status is: Legal to get a work, overstaying tourist. medyo magulo nga lang.
