December 31st, 2013 11:50 AM #1654lahat naman ng alternator ay ina-assemble, e. it's a mass-production item that has interchangeable parts. and it can be fixed and repaired, as i mentioned upstairs.
older sentras were made in japan, while some parts of the newer sentras are made in taiwan..
you gave them your old alternator for free??? ( sorry, but there's no other way i can say it.)
alternators are very robust pieces, and some will actually outlive the engine! let us hope your "new" alternator serves you for many years..Last edited by dr. d; December 31st, 2013 at 11:53 AM.

January 3rd, 2014 09:41 AM #1655^ I had my alternator replaced din with rebuilt, ngayon may problema na sya at di na nakakapag charge ng maayos, intermittent yung performance nya, may time na ok yung charge at may time na halos maintain lang sa 12+VDC yung charging. Naiwan ko na din yung orig ko dun sa pagawaan kasi it was supposed to be a repair na naging swap na in the end kasi di na ako nakabalik. Pero dahil may problem na sya ngayon, I'll be going back over dun sa pagawaan to see what's wrong. Noticeably mas maliit yung binigay sa akin na alternator kumpara sa orig, but I had no choice kasi nung time na yun bisperas ng libing ng father ko so kelangan ko talaga magamit yung kotse ko. I was told maganda daw yung surplus na alternator from a nissan exalta grandeur. But im hoping maaayos ko pa itong gamit ko ngayon.
Tanong lang pala, ano idle rpm nyo ngayon? pasensya na di ko na matandaan sang page dito iyon, I know nabanggit na yan. pero quick question lang naman. thanks sa mag reply... and btw, any news dun sa EB? nahihiya ako sumama at pangit pa kasi exalta ko hehehehe :D

January 4th, 2014 10:20 PM #1657Good evening!
Is there a way to know if thermostat was removed without looking at it? How much does thermostat usually cost?

January 5th, 2014 12:00 PM #1659well, a functioning thermostat enables the engine to reach optimum working temperature, faster than if there were no thermostat.
so i suppose, you can just see how fast your temp gauge goes up. how so fast should it be? i have no black-and-white idea. meaning, if i didn't know how fast it does with a thermostat, i wouldn't know how slow it will be, without one.
