why is it the top selling pickup now? it’s Japanese and its the cheapest utilitarian looking vehcile foe utilitarian use

this new terra, habang nakikita ko na every morning going to work is beginning to look like the Navarra to me, boring as Toyota Corolla Altis or the Vioses.

sometimes, its a trick of the mind that it looks beautiful becauses its the freshest that you see on the roads. ive seen it side bu side with a Fort or Montero, and also seen it dirty with rain putik alikabok, wala it looks so common pala. rounded biggee mazfa cx7 body of the past from the sides, a faceljfted SuA montero at the back

just give it more time, maybe Christmas it will grow up on you. its not elegant looking
Isn't that misconception of the market though when it comes to Navarra? Here is the Phils, it's more a "Lifestyle" pickup. But if you want utility, you aren't really going to be picking the Navarra. If you check Australian pickup reviews, the main achilles heel of the Navarra (and why it isn't selling a lot there) is the suspension. It is a very comfortable pickup, can haul cargo. But if you load it to the limit, the back drops a lot and isn't really ideally for max loading scenarios. So it fails for a commercial vehicle's purpose. But if it's just comfort, hauling ability/bed availability, and a bit of flood wading ability without going full SUV, then the Navarra is actually a good buy. As a daily driver, I'd pick that over the Hilux, Strada and Dmax. Again, that's a preference. For me, the look is okay and will age well. It doesn't need to stand out as I don't care for that.

As for the Terra, it's a preference thing. If you don't like it then you don't like it. Montero's styling is more aggressive and angular while the Fort is mimicking some Lexus cues to make the car to be modern instead of subdued since their previous gen was subdued design (at least to me). Does the Terra stand out if you place it between the 2? For me, it doesn't but who cares? I like it. If standing out is what you want, then there are other options if you really want to stand out. But for me, the Terra's exterior design looks like it will age well similarly like a standard/stock Everest. These 2 might not have bold design cues. For someone who doesn't really care for those things, design wise, Terra is good enough. It might not be the best or even good enough in your book but you're not the only one buying right?

What appeals to you might not appeal to someone else. What's important is you are happy with your choice.

yun na nga aim ko talaga wag na kayo bumile. kasi magsisisi kayo in the long run, sobrang dated talaga design nyan. Yun navarra nga sobrang boxy parang yesteryears pa din, anu ba yun parang ni-rounded lang ni Nissan Frontier ba yun

na-develop na kasi ng tastes ang masa eh by seeing so many modern SUVS everyday. I dont think even the MMDA guy will respect you.

alam mo yun pag sina gadget addict nakakita ng Montero extended pa nila ng 5 minutes more yun 5 minutes kasi alam nila mamahalin yun. pero pag Nissan terra na madumi, ah luma na to baka sabihin nila Nebrijah tapos tow kagad kahit 4 mins 30 seconds pa lang

Standing out is different from being beautiful. As a matter of fact, being ugly also makes you stick out like a sore thumb. Take that as you will.

But like I said, I like the Terra design. It is a preference.

Between the Montero and Fortuner, Exterior looks, I prefer the Fortuner over the Montero. As a whole, I whole heartedly hate the rear design of the Montero because of those tail lights. Again, preference. It doesn't work for me as a whole package but it works for others. Happy for them.

Between the Fortuner's exterior design and the Terra, true, the Fortuner looks better/modern when compared to the Terra but I prefer the Terra's design.

You can call it "dated" and that doesnt change my personal preference. It is neither here nor there for me. You do you. But I'd like to offer this idea then for someone like you who screams dated as a criticism.

At year 0, Design A is "dated". At year 3, Design A is still "dated"
At year 0, Design B is modern and fresh. At year 3, Design B becomes "dated".

Design A aged well as it didn't lose design points or "level". Design B, however, lost design points/level.

Like I said, depends on how you look at it. If it's that important to you, then feel free to buy the hip and freshest looking cars. =) And congrats on your future purchases.

So far my ave FC in the computer is 7.5km/L. 1st full tank only with 280km travelled. Will try if I can reach 8km/L

Looks wise front only, my ranking are as follows: Montero, Trailblazer, Terra, Fortuner, Everest, Dmax. I like boxy design right now because there is more interior space compared to curvy design and it fits well in this segment.

Is that FC all city driving, including going down to the cemetery during nov 1? Just curious if the traffic around cemeteries factored into that 7.5km/l rating.

Based on the ratings I found online, the Terra will consume more than the Montero's current engine. See video attached at around 2:30 mark for the comparison
H2H #182 Nissan TERRA vs Mitsubishi PAJERO SPORT - YouTube
    (mixed FC listed 10.4km/l vs 12.5 km/l)

Even when compared to the Fortuner, based on "specs", it still consumes a bit more (also around 2:30 mark)
H2H #181 Nissan TERRA vs Toyota FORTUNER - YouTube
(mixed FC listed as 10.4 km/l vs 12.8km/l)

Also, was the 7.5km/l manually computed with full tank auto method or relying on computer/digital readout of FC? Just a curiousity. Hope you don't mind

As for the looks preference. Personally, my lineup of liked the most to least is as follows: Everest, Fortuner, Montero, Terra, Trailblazer, Dmax.
I really like the Everest simple yet rugged design but it was executed very cleanly. But no matter what happens, I have subconsciously planted the instruction to not be tempted by Fords anymore because of the after sales (or lack thereof).
