maganda porma neto ha. pero lam nyo when I saw the two variants at Nissan BGC, parang mas ok tignan yun 17 rims na AT variant kaysa dun sa 18 rims na top of the line variant.

mas macho tignan . maybe its the color of the rims. yun kasi mixed black and aluminum rims, ewan ko ba kumbakit napunta dun ang trend, the fully alloy color is more pronounced talaga

just look at this 18 rims limited edition MUX non blue power vs the 18 rims MUX bluepower. mas ok pa din alloy color

parang mabulaklak yun mixed black and alloy color, parang hinde macho dating.

Tumatanda ka lang yata OB, umaayaw ka na sa uso 🙂

More than yung rim design, mas bagay sana bigger tires. Maybe 275/65r18. Maliit yung 255/65r17 at 255/60r18 sa Terra.

am not really a fan of upgrading tires and rims. my reason: ilan taon pinag-aaralan at dine-devote ang computer simulation at actual ng test ng nissan or mitsu or toyota engineers kung pano maging efficient at optimum ang takbo ng sasakyan as a holistic or synergy operation, engine, drive train, tire and rim size, etc. tapos papalitan lang dahil sa porma

so that may look good, but in reality, it'll just be a pain in the neck in the long ownership. you'll never know which part will break.

and also those black rims, they look really dirty and matte finish. i like glossy and shiny things like diamonds and gold. it exhudes sophistication. so mas mabuti pa mag-invest na lang sa mga ceramic coating or whatever technology to make the car always shiny in the eyes than do those temporary things

Simply lang ang gusto ko sa mags - brushed steel finish, symmetrical and not so thin spokes.

Like yung mags ng FJ Cruiser at ng Land Cruiser Prado.

I was finally able to test drive the Terra and also try riding it in the third row. Test drove 4x2 VL Unit. These were the things I noticed

    As a driver:
    1. Power was there, I had no issues with power per se.
    2. Per agent, service interval is every 10k kms/6 months. Reason for 6 months is they recommend mineral oil only as the requirement for the engine. I asked if possible for 10k kms/1year as a possibility if I request Fully Synthetic and I was told yes (by request). I do the same intervals with my Sylphy and there were no issues.
    3. A nitpick is the transmission. It is a 7speed AT, not a CVT (a good thing). It has a manual override mode. Regarding the setup or programming, for some reason, I felt that it was holding the gears too long, both in Drive or even when I forced an upshift/downshift. Shifting feels longer than 1 second even after I input an order to shift. The Montero’s manual mode shifts faster but the Fortuner’s manual mode shifts slower in my opinion.
    4. Per the agent, it is a 7AT but if you go with manual mode, you only get access to 6 gears? I wasn’t able to confirm as never got enough speed to reach fifth gear when I test drove even.
    5. With its disc brakes in front and drum brakes at the rear, I was pleasantly surprised by how it was tuned/setup. My brother owns the current gen Fortuner with the disc/drum setup and that lurches forward no matter how gently you try to play/adjust the brake application pressure. With the Terra, I didn’t notice any lurching forward.
    6. The rear camera on the rear view mirror was not really useful. Like the others mentioned her, the view is actually zoomed in and you really wont get much useful info of how close you are on that camera. You can adjust the camera to look down a bit (4 levels of adjustment) and also adjust it to look left or right (don’t know how many levels of adjustment there is here). The around view camera for the rear is actually another camera near where the plate number and rear door release is.
    7. The Around view cameras also display in the rear view mirror/screen, not in the Headunit.
    8. The Head Unit is okay and is connected to the ceiling hung monitor, displaying the same thing. The Head Unit is not that responsive though. There is a lag when you input and when it will respond. A nitpick but thought I’d mention it. It has hard glass instead of those soft plastic screen the AVT units of old had with the Montero.
    9. I tried checking and the BLMS (Blind Spot Monitoring) was not disabled. But I was looking at the side mirrors to check if they would alert me of anything. I was in traffic so was hoping to see a light somewhere. But it wasn’t on the dashboard display nor did I see anything light up on the mirrors. I honestly don’t know where it is located.
    10. Tire Pressure monitors are in kPA, don’t know if you can change it to psi but I guess you could. Just didn’t have time to tinker with it more.
    11. Aircon was, of course, excellent. I couldn’t really complain. Disabling the REAR A/C disables the ceiling vents, but doesn’t disable the rear vents attached to the center console upfront.
    12. I’m still not used to a start stop system in that I’m used to waiting for AT TEMP and heating coil to switch off before I turn the key, but with start stop, I don’t know if the car is ready with those before it turns over.
    13. Foglights for this model can be adjusted in angle for 3 levels. DRL runs on auto setting on lights.
    14. Center console in front is not adjustable to slide forward. I wanted to move it forward to rest my hand.
    15. I never needed the grab handle to ride the car so I don’t mind its absence.
    16. Told it uses Timing Chain, no longer Timing Belt, so that's good.

Next post is as a rider/passenger.
