I encountered intermittent hard starting on my b14 before. I replaced the fuel pump and spark plugs. The culprit was the relay used to operate the fuel pump.

July 10th, 2015 06:06 PM #25pwede yan fuel pump or relay.. before cranking the engine, fuel pump will run for a few seconds to fill up the fuel rail then will turn off. after engine start, fuel pump will run continuously until you turn off engine.
possible na pag start hindi na ulit umaandar yung fuel pump until engine dies down.
one sign yun na pag choke nya ng TB eh nag start kasi choking the TB creates vacuum pulling fuel to the rail

August 17th, 2015 01:19 PM #28malaki magagastos mo nyan sir kng puro ka hula. you have a lot to consider such as overheating of IACV valve and MAF sensors, clog/dirty Fuel injectors, and the likes. If you are going to replace all those parts without knowing that it has in good condition, you will end up wasting a lot of money.

To eliminate the cloud of doubt that the fuel pump cuts out or lose fuel pressure, why don't you experiment by hard wiring the fuel pump bypassing the controls and relay.
