Looks pretty, comfortable enough, and offers decent quickness - I guess it will be something worth considering for my next ride.

Nissan got approval in the past to classify the Kicks as a BEV, which means 0% excise tax compared to a Hybrid (50%) or an ICE (100%) automobile.

Coupled with ASEAN's free trade agreement (I assume Thailand will be the source), we could see e-Power Xtrails priced lower than a Corolla Cross.

If it's a BEV then it's zero excise (c/o TRAIN) and zero customs duties (c/o EVIDA) already, so even without ASEAN it should be cheaper.
Problem here is most dealers don't actually pass on the full tax savings to the consumer and instead pocket some of the difference as profits.

Notable exception is Hyundai and the Ioniq 5 N with a P4.2M MSRP.
US MSRP is about $68k x 60 = P4,080,000. With 12% VAT that's P4.569M, so the local casa's MSRP being even lower than just the base price + VAT it seems they are truly passing on all the savings to the buyer.

it will probably depend on nissan's perception of how popular the vehicle is/will be.
if the vehicle is very popular, then they can charge the proverbial full list price and folks will still fall in line for one.
if not so popular, they can charge lower, to attract buyers.

only the manufacturer knows how much the vehicle actually costs, to manufacture.

i may find some shade in how nissan managed to classify the e-power as a BEV (battery electric vehicle), but i, as a buyer, will appreciate the perceived tax brakes therein.
    heh heh.

    so,
which is the better buy, the kicks e-power, or the altis hybrid...?
