Xtrail's portly body is to blame. Also helps that the Subie is a boxer engine. It will punch above its displacement at lower revs. And full time awd will always be better off the line. It is also lighter with the smaller body. But on the highway it is still slower.

That's pretty good FE. What's the worst FE you get on the FXT?
On hellish traffic, it gets to 5 km/L. Around the same as my old 6th gen Accord 2.3L NA.

Which online seller? Do you know of local dealers who sell Subaru brake pads?

I just got my x-trail 2.5 today. I'll do review after a month of driving. For now, I need help on the infotainment system as it won't pair with smartphones - my galaxy 7, my friend's Iphone 6 (big), and my other friend's iphone 4s. I think the unit has issue, it would ask for the pin 3 times then it would give an error that pairing failed. Anyone had this issue? For sure I"ll ask dealer to fix this in the 1,000km check up, but I'd like to know the owners of the 4x4 x-trails if you had a similar issue and you found a solution. Thanks in adavance!

Congrats on the purchase. I've paired it with a Samsung S5, an iPhone 6, and even a Blackberry. It can only pair with 1 device at a time. I'd take it to he dealer.

I want to replace the HU with one with a bigger display, just haven't gotten to it yet.

Thanks! Seems like I got a defective HU nga. Ill bring it back. I was researching on MXTRON since some folks here had success on it. It seems it can integrate with the steering wheel controls and around view cam. Are you planning to get the same?

I prefer a Japanese brand if I can help it. The only Chinese brand I had was the oem in our Starex. It only lasted 3+ years. Not sure about Mxtron though.

The other nagging thing I want to do is ditch the 3rd row and get a full sized spare.

I've seen original OEM 7" units for the rogue+newer xtrails being sold not sure though if it is 100% compatible.

If you take out the 3rd row, then it means you have to get the orig parts for the non 3rd row xtrail. Would be interesting to see that!
