Thats because the Sentra has a heavy body...
I'm surprised that the Sentra is still being sold here, even Yulon discontinued this model already.
They should have at least added some safety features, like a driver's airbag, something that is standard on the base Vios 1.3J.
Vios 1.3J M/T (standard driver's airbag) P575K
Vios 1.3E M/T (standard driver's airbag, ABS, power features and 14 inch alloy wheels) P649K
Aveo 1.4 LT M/T (standard dual-airbags, ABS, power features, 60:40 split folding rear seats, 15 inch alloy wheels and fog-lights) P659KLast edited by AG4; October 22nd, 2008 at 05:42 PM.

I have an 06 Sentra GX m/t all powered. So far I'm hitting 8-9 km/l city and up to 11 km/l hiway. My driving style is the same as what 10323015 have said, I shift the gear at 2000 rpm from 1st to 2nd then 2500 for every succeeding gears.

i don't get it. 1300cc engine on a heavy body gets 8-9km/liter while a 1600cc gets the same FC even better. nissan motors should have designed a more fuel efficient engine if they want to stay in the game.

November 1st, 2008 12:51 AM #26mine's doing 7-8 km/l pure city. on highways, it goes up to 11 km/l.
it's an old school car that takes you from point a to point b and a good cruising companion. i shift between 2000 and 2500. spirited driving by playing between 3000-4000 and the gx gives a promise.
but sometimes(ok most of the time), it get's irritating and tiresome to drive if you are stuck in a stop and go traffic, poor tall 1st and 2nd gear. suspension's kinda soft too. once the nb site goes up, you can visit our thread there regarding the n16.

i'm now very happy with my decision to choose the Sentra over the Mitsu GLX..
im now on 10 km/l pure city driving and 13-14 on highway sa SCTEX...

if i were to buy a sentra then, i would rather get the 1600cc variant if FC is almost the same.
anyway i agree with romeldinho. its tiring to drive when you're stuck in traffic but once the GX gathers momentum, its not that bad.
on my GF's 04 GX, it gets around 8-9km/liter. wish it could be better.Last edited by non-vtec; November 4th, 2008 at 12:41 AM.

November 4th, 2008 09:41 AM #29Yes, just get the 1600cc instead since i believe they dropped the price already. Too bad though, the usdm sentra C16 (or is it b16 chassis code?) might never arrive in our shores since nmpi follows Yulon...
I just hope they bring in the tiida.

as for the old GX, according to my SA *NGO, mas mataas FC nung unang version. ung '08 is much more fuel efficient.. he was saying something about open/closed loop something. kaso sobrang antok ko na, nde ko na masyadong naintindihan :D
i think there's some truth to that, kasi, i'm doing 10km/l now na pure city driving.. a km or two higher than those who posted here..
the c16 variant has 2L engines as stock... and if they bring it here, it's not going to be as profitable for NMPI... not too many are thrilled with getting gas guzzlers..
as it is, marami pa ren silang nabebentang units considering it's (n16) already aged.. especially fleet taxis
