Tops speed is no issue for me. Torque and Hp rating is more important. Yung previous L200 ko reached 160kph but heck ang tagal paabutin. My current Dmax can reach 160kph in no time.
Hey these are trucks were talking about anyway. Ave kph of 100kph - 120kph in major Hi-ways is fine with me.
I'm having second thoughts if the Hp rating of the Strada can cope up with its weight. But the Torque rating looks very promising!
I really love the rear seats and the Barometer!

October 15th, 2006 05:16 PM #384Djerms,
But if the strada has higher HP and lower kerb weight then that would mean that it will have better power to weight than the Dmax. So do you also think that the Dmax's engine also has a hard time coping with its weight? Better power to weight would also mean that it will out-accelerate the Dmax to 160 kph. of course we have to take into account transmission gearing and stability at speed. A friend of mine will be getting a gls a/t in a week or two i'll give you guys a more thorough review as to its driving characteristics.

boosted,
Everything about the strada now is based on paper. By the looks of it, mas malaki talaga ang Strada (but that does not necessarily mean heavier depending on the materials used). Kaya mas gusto ko pa rin siya i-test drive.
With regards to the Dmax, no problem naman sa power to weight ratio. Actually it accelerates quite fast. Only problem is when you reach a certain speed, medyo naghahabol na ang engine unless you do a kickdown of gears (AT po ang Dmax ko). I think this is due to the gearing of the Dmax.
If the specifics of the Strada written on paper is true, then its definitely better in terms of power to weight ratio.
