It's undeniable that there are more cases for the Montero... but the actual number of cases for the others is unknown.
One possible reason is demographics. Which also explains why the Strada is not included in the complaints despite being nearly mechanically identical (except for alternator draw under load, which is different according to some, but not different enough to cause SUA).
This also explains why there were several Everests that had accidents... same demographic.

But there does appear to be some ergonomic issue increasing cases with the Montero Sport. Likely to do with the lack of a transmission lock-out. But here's the rub: Since we don't have any regulatory requirements in regards to control layout for motor vehicles, it can't be considered a recallable defect here.
SGS is an auditing company. They do much more than certify marine companies. When I trained with them, it was for ISO certification for educational institutions.
Doesn't matter. Could be SGS, Could be KPMG. No locally-based company has ANY experience doing an investigation of this type... so NONE of them can pass the requirements set by the DTI. The investigation is really going nowhere.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Future of scandal-hit Mitsubishi Motors in doubt – again - Channel NewsAsia
"I really think the future of Mitsubishi Motors is grim," said Hideyuki Kobayashi, a business professor at Hitotsubashi University, who authored a book about the company's struggles with an earlier cover-up.
"It would be silly to buy a Mitsubishi car after this (scandal). This isn't the first time this has happened."
In 2005, the maker of the Outlander SUV and Lancer cars was pulled back from the brink of bankruptcy after it was discovered that it covered up vehicle defects that caused fatal accidents.
Mahilig pala magtago. Yung sa montero "SUA" ano kaya tinatago?

Bakit sa Pilipinas, wala naman Hyundai SUA...
Singapore probes Hyundai cars for sudden acceleration
Singapore's Land Transport Authority said Tuesday it is investigating Hyundai vehicles following reports of accidents involving sudden acceleration while reversing

SINGAPORE (AP) -- Singapore's Land Transport Authority said Tuesday it is investigating Hyundai vehicles following reports of accidents involving sudden acceleration while reversing.
In a statement, the authority said it was looking into cases of Hyundai vehicles having "unintended acceleration in reverse gear."
"It is premature to draw any conclusions at this point in time," it said.
The statement gave no further details, but the local newspaper Straits Times cited recent incidents involving taxis from operator ComfortDelGro, which leases Hyundai Sonata cars, among other models. It is Singapore's largest taxi operator with a fleet of 17,000 cabs.
Hyundai Motor said it is looking into the matter.
"We will fully cooperate with LTA or any other authority in Singapore," it said in a statement.
South Korean consumers have lodged complaints about accidents that they believed were caused by sudden unintended accelerations, not necessarily in reverse gear. But past government probes have found no evidence that this was linked to faulty vehicles.
At a public demonstration in 2013, the government tried to reproduce conditions that were believed to cause cars to suddenly accelerate without intention but those attempts failed. The ministry concluded that it was "reasonable" to conclude the phenomenon of "sudden unintended acceleration" does not exist.
Hairdresser Roger Choo, 45, said he experienced sudden acceleration while driving from the Thai cities of Krabi to Phuket in a rented Hyundai Sonata a few years ago.
"I heard a loud revving from the engine compartment and thought it was turbo kicking in," he said. "But the car kept speeding even after we released the acceleration pedal."
"Fortunately for us, the road was long and clear of traffic," said Choo, who managed to stop the car after putting it in neutral gear and switching off the ignition. "Once we calmed ourselves down, we started the engine and all was back to normal," he said.

i read that article, and it says that it is time consuming to pursue further investigations/tests in the computer codes presented by toyota although there were doubts in the way the codes were written suggesting SUA might really occur. There was even a comment by someone in authority (i forgot the name) that if NASA had gone further in the investigation/tests they would have made a conclusive report that SUA was actually real.
