4th Gen Montero Sport (2023)

Last night I park the vehicle and then another vehicle park beside me and it was a tight space in between us. I have not gotten out of the vehicle and the driver of the vehicle went out to open the passenger side door and I fear that he might attempt to closed the power side mirror manually so I quickly press the button to fold the side mirror automatically. Electronic auto fold side mirrors cannot be manually fold right?

^ you'll be wearing down their gears in no time at all if you manually close power folding mirrors often. Kaya it's best to just let their respective motors do their work.

Dapat talaga maingatan yan boss at tama na baka masira mga gears based on our personal experience. Yung dating Montero namin, nasagi lang ng naglalakad na tao habang nakatabi at naghihintay kami. Since mukhang wala namang nangyari, ibinalik lang namin sa usual position. But the next day, when we opened the auto folding, it opened all the way at hindi tumigil dun sa usual position. So ang work around lang, every time we open it, hinahawakan para tumigil sa tamang position. Apparently, may nabali na parang stopper when we had it checked tapos di na kaya idikit lang dahil bumibigay rin agad. The part is not replaceable, we needed to buy the whole assembly.

Okay thank u for this. I will be much careful from now on with the auto fold side mirrors.

Careful din if magpa carwash outside.
Always make sure to inform the carwash boy to not manually fold the side mirror.
Eto usually cause din sa mga owners, mostly sa kanila galing carwash sa labas at parang napwersang itupi ng carwash boy.

Yes I will and this type of auto fold side mirrors it cost a lot right? and that explains why when you turn-off the engine the side mirror automatically folds to avoid such accidents (unintentional folding it manually).

a colleague once found his non-montero's side mirror damaged beyond repair, after an accident.
upon inquiring from the casa, he found out, they sold it only in pairs!

You can buy per pc if surplus afaik. Maybe a manual folding they have I doubt if they have auto fold.

personally,

i do not miss not having auto-fold side mirrors.
kasi, if i have to fold them, it means i probably won't be able to get out of the vehicle also.

if manual fold... they can fold them all they want, without me having to worry that they'll get destroyed in the process. i will just unfold them later. hey! that's what my payong beside me is for.

Those w/ broken autofold should just upgrade to the manual version.
