CarGuidePh: I was ready to say it's the best CVT I've tried. But it's not hahaha. It's the same 4-speed 'box.
    CVT na hindi. Hehe.

    Hmmm.

Avanza has a blind spot monitor and rear traffic alert.

But the Xpander has electric parking brake and cruise control.

Strange that Mitsubishi PH decided to retain the 4 A/T

Per Uly over at CG, Mitsu PH never had any feedback about transmission concerns with regards to the Xpander. That's why they decided to retain the 4AT.

If that is the case it sort of makes sense because there is an aversion for CVTs you can't avoid in the market for those who know of it.

While for the rest, it is just an AT or MT in their minds,. They dont care for at, cvt, dct, i-cvt etc.

"there were no complaints, so they did not change it?"
    heh heh.

    personally,
i'm as an ordinary a driver as can be.
it doesn't matter much whether it's AT or CVT,
as long as it doesn't give me headaches.

better to have that blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffice alert.. ang weird some other brands sell this as an option. it should be a standard.

so malamang they also didn't get any feedback on safety features so they opted instead for the electronic parking brake and auto hold vs active safety features and more airbags which the avanza has.

in fairness, they did address most of my qualms sa 1st gen which are absence of auto climate control, front center armrest, led headlights (gen 1.5 has them though) and 2nd row armrest with cupholders.

Wala pa ring rear parking sensor, not sure why kahit itong minor feature ay hindi nila makabit.
Need pa nila magbenta as option which is super mahal.
Useless rear parking camera unless it's a 360.

I prefer Avanza's additional safety features over Xpander's added convenience features. Blind spot monitor is great to have, more so during rainy evenings when you barely see your side mirrors.

Electronic park brake is just a nuisance imo, already have it on my current ride and I still prefer the handbrake lever, fool proof and will last the life of the vehicle. Replacing the EPB actuator will cost you 70k sa Montero so most likely same sa Xpander.
