Thank you for the much appreciated inputs on my relatively novice queries about the MS.

Certainly learned a lot from you guys, I guess I am convinced to drop by my dealership early next week. I will try to negotiate the best deal I could have, I think I'll be getting the GLS-V, and will just upgrade it with CF spoiler, honeycomb grille, leather seats and probably a drop-dead honking Bosch europa horn.
I might enjoy the stock rims for a few months before getting some 20 inch snickers.

That thing about the additional 110kg of weight due to the 4x4 tranny that may also affect the FC is such a brilliant input. Thanks jclalzona.

try to wrangle an upgraded horn as a freebie in lieu of the free casa tint. then get a good tint outside.

Good luck..... going on 5000kms on my Monty and loving it.... got also the GLS-V. So far, the upgrades I've done are the CF spoiler, OEM side mirror turning lamps, backup camera, sound sytem, headrest monitors. Next project is the TPMS....not planning on changing the rims anytime soon, not a fan of chrome mags.

Hello Gurus,

Been a lurker of this thread and other similar ones for a couple of weeks already. The reason being, I'm planning to get a GLS-V 4x2 A/T, but I want to be so damn sure that I'm getting the best deal and the right SUV.

Prior to my reading of this thread, I was convinced to get a Monty rather than the badly -beaten Fort. However I have a few questions in mind, please help me in answering them:

1. GLS-V or the GTV? Is all the aesthetic/ and tranny worth the increase of almost 270K in the price tag?
2. Is the Monty really "mausok"?
3. Been hearing a lot of negative feedback when it comes to PMS, they say Montys' PMS costs so much compared to other SUV's, is this true?
4. In case I decide to upgrade my mags, what would be the best size 20's or 22's? taking into consideration that mine will be a daily driver.

Thank you so much for any help you can extend me. I'm presently driving a Pajero Fieldmaster, am satisfied with it, but this 10 year old macho needs an upgrade or rather an update for more pogi points.

GLS-V for city driving then plow the "extras" into sounds or other bling-bling that might interest you. Who says that real men uses manual tranny? Maybe in the 90s, but in the 2000s with our era of PDKs and dual clutch trannys? Automatic has gone a long way!
