Nope Norm; I never said its CG was lower than the SF, I said it was one of the lowest in it's class. I said that its suspension has greater travel, so empty it is a lot higher than the SF as it travels up less; so empty the difference is more than 5mm. But the last bit is wrong

Explanation: The MS's Ground Clearance actually never changes unless on rough terain (like over ruts in the landscape). This is due to the fact that it has a live rear axle and the axle housing (the round bit in the middle with the diff) always remains 215mm from the road (unless one wheel is in a hole or rutt) and is the lowest point in almost all live axle 4x4s. But the body itself does go up and down and so the CG goes up and down. All vehicles with suspensions' CG changes as it is loaded.

The SF on the otherhand has independent rear suspension, so its ground clearance as well as CG changes according to weight.

Sounds about right guys. The press get to test drive it on the 18th of February. That is not to say some buyers won't have theirs already in their front driveway before that. Maybe my new BLACK SE will be one of them.

Uhmn, If you don't really need the car right now, it is worth to wait for the GLX model with a vgt engine. But one thing is for sure, if the 2011 GLX model with a VGT engine will be released in the coming months, it will cost more as compared to the 2010 GLX model.

Engine: 4D56 2.5 turbocharged and intercooled dsl
    Max Power: 178HP/4000rpm
    Max Torque:350Nm/1800 - 3500rpm
Turbocharger: Variable Geometry Turbo (developed by IHI)

key spec changes for the Montero GT-V:
    • 4speed INVECS II AT to 5speed INVECS II AT
    • new front grille w/ GTV emblem (Honeycomb)
    • paddle shifters
    • 3-MID system w/ touch screen interface NAVI system, integrated audio functions, DVD playback, iPod, USB, Bluetooth (AVT)
    • carbon fiber rear spoiler
    • tail pipe finisher

di po pwede ilagay ang VGT sa present Monteros kasi you also have to replace some of the internals. It now uses high strength bearing caps and high strength aluminum alloy pistons, thinner piston rings to accomodate the cooling cavity and high load small and big end con rod bearings

price... wala pa official from the plant, although may isang dealer who is quoting the 4x2 AT*1.408M. both 4x4 AT and 4x2 AT have the VGT engine.

units... is already here but it still has to wait until the Feb 24 launching. price will be announced then. same color availability, no introduction of new colors.
What about the 4x2 variants? I mean specs? Are they the same? I got the same price tag from an SA as well... and another one with 1.410...

rumors are spreading that only 4x2 at and 4x4 at will have VGT? Not sure if they will apply it to the GLX since it was only released less than a year?... But then it pays to wait sir waiting until february 24 won't hurt you at all... ako nga 3 weeks ago pa ko commute mode eh.. haha

haha what promises ba??? yeah feb24 pa nga sabi nila... But I am guessing march na makakapag-roll out kasi less than a week na lang yun from their launching.. plus for sure marami ng nakapila bago ikaw. bago ako. :P it pays to wait until feb24 for the launching...

So the 5mm difference is only applicable when you put the maximum load on the 2 vehicles. Do I get it right? Sta Fe empty it is will also be much higher than 210? right?

Geez I slightly understand only a bit hahaha... Anyway to me it looks like the montero is higher than its rivals such as fort and everest. But then it turned out like I shouldn't rely on what I see...

Are you sure the SE does not come with reversing camera incorporated in the MMCS (Mitsubishi Multi Communication System) touch screen together with reversing sensors?

Yes, locoroco777, Sir Expatio is correct. i thought you knew all along. the torque rating for M/T and A/T are different only that probably MMC engineers can explain. you can even see that on the international brochure that i posted on the TSCP's fb page...
