it's air conditioners for buildings, po. not vehicle aircons.
it's called a window air conditioner, because the first units were... placed onto windows, just as you say.
but subsequent house builders put a rectangular hole on the wall or the side of the window, to accommodate the aircon unit.

the inverter, is just a refinement of the cooling system, supposedly to make it more efficient.

I keep reading about this "full" DC inverters, is it any different from inverter units? Is this a newer tech than DC inverters?

Full inverter probably means that both the motor fan and compressor are inverter ... some only have inverter motor for the compressor ...

Yan pala yun sinasabi sa ads ng Hitachi! "Not all inverters are created equal" sa kanila daw 3 ang inverters. So effect niyan sa electricity consumption?

I hope someone knowledgeable can chime in and educate us if an inverter unit is really different from a double inverter unit and that it is us suppose to be more economical that just an inverter unit

The most important thing is how it translate to energy savings.

That’s true, but we would not know that unless we buy one. So unless we get educated by this marketing strategies that they have, we might not be able to get the maximum savings we all would want to have.
