January 15th, 2021 09:02 PM #4421I have this box full of letters from a special friend back in college.
It started with a post-it posted on the wall of a fire exit where I spend my time during my break time. I noticed it one time and read it. "Kamusta? Tumatambay ka rin pala dito. Ang sarap magpahinga dito no? Tahimik at mahangin. Ikaw? Ano ginagawa mo dito pag andito ka? If ever magreply ka, iwan mo na lang dun sa ilalim ng plywood para hindi hanginin or makita ng ibang tao."
"Hi, tahimik kasi dito at nakakapagrelax ako habang naghihintay ng next class. Kung hindi umidlip, pinapanood ko yung ilog at yung mga barge na dumadaan. O kaya yung mga naglalakad sa baba."
I think after a month of exchanging notes, sometimes isang buong yellow paper na sulat, nagpang-abot din kami sa fire exit na yun. Nakakatawa pa kasi ako yung nauna dun. Nung nakita nya ako, parang nahiya at di na tumuloy. Later that day, nag-iwan ulit sya ng note asking kung ako ba yung kasagutan nya ng letters. I answered yes and asked bakit di sya tumuloy. Nahiya daw sya.
The next day or 2 days ata nagpang-abot ulit kami and nagkaroon na kami ng formal introduction. Even if it was our first time seeing each other, parang komportable na kami siguro dahil lagi kami nagpapalitan ng sulat. We became close with each other na ang tingin ng ibang friends nya at friends ko eh parang kami na daw. I remember noon first time ko sa Riverbanks Mall at yung perya along the Riverbanks.
Hahaha.

Ako naman may nameet ako sa ym many years ago (don't want to date myself but more than 10 years). We would chat and talk on the phone and from what I can recall he's cute and fun to talk to kasi ako ang laging tumatawag sa kanya using the church phone haha. But like what usually happens, we eventually stopped communicating. But over the years pala he tried to reach out through email/emails before fb and an fb message nung 2014. When he messaged me again in 2016, nacurious na ako so I responded. When I realized it was him, part of me kinilig kasi naalala niya ako and nag-aatempt siya mag reconnect. He'd ask me to meet up and I'd decline kasi half of me is creeped out kasi ang tagal na talaga nun. Half heartedly pumayag ako makipagkita last year kaso covid happened.

no wonder MY exes weren't warm to my wild friend when she tried to reconnect with them. Some go as far back as HS cinontact pa. She was one of the FEW girls I trusted na hindi catty/competitive. I really can't forget what she did to me
BTW to prove that she is really wild, may GC kami ng barkada namin na all boys din. She posted that she asked her guy friend for a vibrator as a gift and she showed the photo and she talked about using it. I was APPALLED. Those men are WAY older than us, 50s na siguro and ALL married with kids, except one (yung crush namin)Last edited by _Cathy_; January 17th, 2021 at 12:24 PM.

January 17th, 2021 12:41 PM #4430yes, that would appear to be the norm.
but life is stranger than fiction, sometimes.
i know of a number of personal acquaintances, who got widowed early on.
there's even these two, who, despite their differing backgrounds, for reasons that beleaguer statistical probability,
met and eventually re-married, each other.
