It's 6 AM now. But, I got up at 3 AM and practiced driving with paddleshifters, refining my shifts at the best RPM range. Basically, I wasted 1/4 tank of gas just driving around.

I also disabled the ECO mode indicator in the Settings to see if the transmission do less gear-hunting. It does seem to stay in gear much longer which is indicated by a small drop in gas mileage. So now, ECO is off unless we go on a road trip....and I use cruise control.

The wife demanded I clean her car. I got on it and then realized she had run over some spilled (white) paint with lots of splatter near the driver side floorboard. Hopefully, I can take the paint splatters out with a generous application of car wax and not have to use rubbing compound.

Then, there are two small dents on the driver side door which totally stripped the paint down to the primer. I think I'll have to use touch-up paint/clear coat on them.

I keep telling them to park the car between two very expensive cars. Don't park the car next to a beat-up pickup truck.

that's probably what the car that parked beside her driver side, had in mind...

The chipped paint won't be so hard to fix (or at least, hide). I'm more concerned about how she managed to get a lot of white paint splatter at the bottom part of the car by the driver side. That might take a lot longer to fix.

Anyway, I realize I buy my cars because they're mules. But, I'd like to see them unblemished at least, for a few months. Once the family add their dents and scratches, I lose interest in keeping them looking good.

No more personalized care. I just bring them to the car wash.
