September 28th, 2024 07:15 PM #321the other other night,
i was just malling in show mart city hole, to lower the blood sugah.
and i stumbled upon a pair of white sambas. it was on display and in my hard-to-find size.
hindi ko na pinalagpas, even as i had to let go of my emergency monies tucked away in my puerta de moneda.
kung hinoldap ako that night, hindi matutuwa ang holdaper.Last edited by dr. d; September 28th, 2024 at 07:20 PM.

October 3rd, 2024 09:15 PM #324as in many classic (read: "ancient") sport footwear designs,
soul cushioning appeared to have relied more on the thick socks they were assumed to have been worn with.
most of these ancient sneaker designs used souls made from harder rubber compounds with ribbed inner support, rather than today's bantex-style foam-rubber soles.

October 3rd, 2024 11:39 PM #326Standard AJ1 (Jumpman logo in the tongue), not good insoles.
Yung mga OG styles lang for me ang may good insoles na AJ1 (Those with NIKE logo in the tongue).
Mas mahal din OG compare sa Standard AJ1.
Not owned Mid and Highs though so not sure if insoles of those shoes are good or not.
Lately, nagpabili nito yung daughter eldest ko.
adidas
She was surprised how comfy it is to wear daw.
She was expecting to have same comfort level lang ng Samba.
This is now her new favorite than her old AJ1 Elevate Low.

October 4th, 2024 08:55 AM #327Kung comfort, Skechers walking shoes talaga ako. Slip-on, breathable, cushioned sole tapos soft upper material (mesh) so it conforms to the shape of my feet. Kahit whole day na suot at lakaran ay walang problema.
Unlike yung mga rubber shoes na yung paa ko ang maga-adjust.
Yun nga lang, looks boring and out of fashion.

October 4th, 2024 01:19 PM #329as a long time Samba user (since early 90's since i was a futbol player)
during those early years(90's) sambas were comfortable compared to other sneakers during those times.
The millennium edition that came out in 99' was better comfort wise such that i would always use it for going out. lasted for over 10 years before it crumbled.
Now with the advent of Ultraboost, ON shoes, and other softer rubber shoes the comfort level of the sambas have been surpassed.
i still prefer them way ahead of any Nike AF1.

I miss my old Sambas from the 90's, the one with the long tongue and a gum sole. Great daily beater shoe for the Philippines, kahit umulan eh ok lang.
There was also a Samba with an updated design (white soles and not leather) released in the mid-90's, which I didn't particularly like then, but, on hindsight, would probably look good today.
As expected, in response to Tesla’s entry into the Philippines market, Ford will be bringing in the...
