There was Sun, Red mobile, and now ABS CBN mobile. All of them will fold. Masyado mataas ang fixed costs ng telco so it's naturally limited to a few players.

They should at least provide decent service. I am not expecting excellent service. Just decent, or even half decent. It's like they don't care for customers at all.

At the end of the day, they will do only what makes business sense. To be fair though, compared to 10 years ago, our services have improved greatly.
3G is widely available, and unli call and text promos are much cheaper now. This is because of the rat race between Smart and Globe to capture the bigger share of the market through lower prices and wider internet coverage.
However, progress is still at a snail's pace compared to the level of service that telcos in other countries are offering.

Unfortunately, it's worse for me in over 15 years that I've been with Globe. SMS was free in the 90s and when it became popular the service got worse and they started charging (which I understood).
But what is the deal with Globe's erroneous data charges and my freaking statement of account that I have not been receiving for 4 months! Exactly the same thing happened to me last year! They can't even pay for decent courier service? I have no problems receiving my other SOAs. I am so frustrated with the abysmal customer service in this country. On the other side, I recently reported to Amazon that I did not receive my package with items worth almost P10k, with NO questions asked I got a refund in 2 days!
Another example of excellent customer service here is my outstanding balance at my AMEX worth P16.I It's their fault for late posting of LC reversal. They refuse to reverse it and it's been in dispute for over 1 year. I am not paying this out of principle.

Based on my limited experience, Globe's billing antics are bad bad bad stunts... Have not experienced any of those with Smart...
Serendipity it is...

I just look at my billing through the Globe app. I don't wait for the paper billing anymore. I'll probably go paperless, since madali lang din naman magrequest ng SOA through email if you call the hotline.

Happy with Smart indeed. Even when we had some ish with one billing they immediately corrected it on the next billing.
