September 13th, 2005 01:52 PM #2[QUOTE=wildthing]mga peeps, why would you buy virgin coconut oil na priced at a premium when you can make one yourself at a very cheap cost.
Thanks wildthing for sharing this... Mga peeps libre yan hah.
Actually, there was a study in the before that says among all the provinces, the bicol regions registers the lowest rate of people suffering from heart problems. Some say that it's probably because of their high consumption of gata.

July 18th, 2005 01:43 PM #4usually yung ginagami sa buhok ay niluluto - process ng paglalatik kung tawagin. Lulutuin mo ang gata, the heat will coagulate the protein and magkakaruon ng mailard reaction (sugar-protein cooking). Kaya ang oil sa process na ito ay techically HINDI virgin coconut oil.
True VCO is produced via natural process, no heating and addition of chemicals. Wala ring amoy (characteristic nutty smell) gaano ang VCO.

July 18th, 2005 02:22 PM #6here are links mga bossing for your further study of VCO and oils. yes, smear campaign talaga yung nangyari sa oil industry ng pinas (which is coco) kaya bad impression ngayon ang mga coconut oil at puro canola, soya, refined vegetable oil ang available sa mga supermarket. VCO daw are very stable ang molecular structure unlike the popular oils today which are self proclaimed heart healthy like canola oil goes rancid easily creating free radicals. my testimony na kami nyan dito sa office namin. he was a canola user until an attack. tinigilan canola at gumamit na ng VCO and if budget constraint mga lesser evil oils like palm oil at natanggal na pangingirut ng heart nya.
fyi nga pala. i was advised not to buy those vco package in plastic bottles. piliin nyo daw mga nasa glass bottles. marami na nga nagmamarket nito ngayon at nagsulputan at mahirap na baka makabili ng fake. try nyo sa watsons meron cla naka glass bottle pero mahal 450 yung 500mL. the best brand according to a website ay yung tropical tradition daw.

Hello everyone! I'm new here and finding my way in the website. Couldn't help but reply on VCO. There are a lot of websites on Extra Virgin Coconut Oil eleborating on its benefits. It is anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-microbial. It is good for weight control. It is good for the digestive system. Not only it is good for cancer and hypertention, it is also used by research on AIDS/HIV patients.
It has an after taste similar to latik. It's gooky at first. Recommended is 2 tbsp./day. But you can split it to 1 tbsp in the a.m. and another in the p.m. I hope a lot will try it. It is good for your well-being and it is readily available in the market.
I take Prosource Extra Virgin Coconut Oil and it costs PHP150.00 per bottle of 250ml and available in all Mecury Drug branches. Hope this helps. ;-) -----Cyn
