TIL it's not safe to ask if someone "Are you a girl?" on the internet.

you mean may photo naman pero you're not sure if she's a real girl?

when you ask a real girl "are you a girl?" ang dating sa kanya she looks gay so nakakabadtrip para sa kanya hehe

pero girls these days are understanding naman coz there are lots of trans and ladyboys nowadays kaya ung iba di nagagalit

Yep. Catfishing has been around even before trolling became a job. Panahon pa ng Friendster may mga nagpopose na as girls using someone else's profile pic.

Bihira naman yung di halatang lalake IRL so I don't think one ever has to ask but I have to admit there are some who can pass off as girls at first glance na nowadays. The only thing that always gives them away is malandi masyado gumalaw.

Doesn't bother me naman kung ano man ang orientation nila, what bothers me is why they have to go online pretending to be something they're not.
