Not much has changed. Traffic is still bad. Roads still flood. LGUs still lack the disaster preparedness they promised every year. Etc
Practically the same since i started driving back in college many years ago.

There can be changes in our daily lives but the fact remains, sadly nothing is gonna change in this country of ours. Reactive, hindi proactive ang laging approach.
- squatters will go back to living under bridges, near waterways
- city mayors will keep squatters from relocating to keep their votes
- govt officials will turn a blind eye to illegal logging
- the people directly impacted by calamities will continue to vote for candidates due to their popularity; not their capacity to lead
- people maybe environment-conscious now, but will revert back to their old ways once news about this calamity dies down
- etc, etc.

This is where my buddy immigrated and she says that she's having the time of her life in Australia. She's convincing me to follow but I really don't want to leave Manila.
On topic, Ondoy made me even more paranoid.
-I get scared when it starts to rain really hard.
- I don't go out when it's raining unless necessary
- I am going to prepare a disaster kit.
- I am going to put all important docs in plastic envelopes rather than brown envelopes
- I am going to buy a water resistant bag where I could put all important docs and cash is case it starts to flood in our area.
- I am also thinking of keeping less cash at home.
Ever since Ondoy, I found myself being really conscious about the topography (?) or elevation of an area.Last edited by _Cathy_; October 12th, 2009 at 12:25 PM.

Or Singapore. Kasi hindi bumabagyo doon.
God has truly blessed that tiny city state (even though their government is secular, meaning, neutral when it comes to religious matters). Or maybe their God is more powerful than our God.
Sure, it rains in Singapore. But flooding is minimal because they were smart enough to build a good drainage system.
