July 20th, 2014 07:18 AM #415Mga pre,
I'm still in the process of reading this whole thread pero ill post na muna my questions and just edit later if nasagot na sya sa ibang post na mababasa ko.
Anyway, I'm looking for a genset that can power a 2HP aircon, 10 lights, 4 electric fan, 1 TV, 1 computer, modem/router. There will be times na I will turn off the aircon so that I can plug 2x refrigerators (22cu-inverter type auto defrost and 14cu-manual defrost).
As of now, my best bet is the Honda EG6500CXS (5.5kva nominal/6.5kva max) pero medyo namamahalan ako (P81,000+)
I tried looking at Ace Hardware and they have the following brands:
- Navigator NPG8500E2- 6.5k watts nominal / 7.5k watts max (don't know the dbA) - P50k price
- Promate
Sa MC Home depot / Wilcon website they have this:
Kipor KGE6500X - 5.5Kva nominal / 6.5Kva max 74dbA (P70k price)
Promate 8800ES - 7000watts nominal / 8800 watts max 72dbA (P70k price)
Sa Sulit/OLX merong Elemax (powered by Honda) generator. Ok din ba eto compared to the original Honda genset? Mas mura kasi eto ng konti.
I've read somewhere about coleman powermate / kubota / robin. ok din ba eto?
I've also read na may mga China brands. Ano bang mga top quality China brands that you can recommend?
Malaki ba price difference? Hirap kasi sa Quiapo baka used na yung ibenta sakin.
Also, I don't really know if I should invest this much on a generator since gagamitin lang naman eto mga 1x to 3x a year pag nag brown out due to typhoon and such. Would buying a China generator be good enough or should I go with the branded japan/USA gens? Sana tumagal eto ng mga 10yrs. Kaya ba ng China gens eto?
FYI, I'm particular with the price as well as the noise level. Ayoko kasing maka distorbo ng neighbor. Maingay naba ang 74dbA relatively for a genset? May nabasa kasi akong ibang genset nasa 80 to 90+ ang dbA. Also, are the gensets i've mentioned above the "closed type" gensets ive been reading? Or eto pa yung open type?
Thanks.

Kaya mas tahimik ang denyo compare mo sa china made.. One is the type of muffler na gamit... and AFAIK denyo uses a bigger dynamo, same engine bigger dynamo (not sure nga lang)... kaya hindi hirap tumakbo yung engine, kaya lesser ang noise...
if you will compare like for example a 100kva Denyo genset against a 175kva CUmmins china made genset.. that is both on residential type mufflers and running at 80kva... mas tahimik pa yung 175kva na cummins na china gensets.... kasi hindi po hirap yung engine....
The reason why we use industrial type mufflers on our china made gensets is to save on cost.. pag ang nakakabit sa DENYO gensets ay Industrial type mufflers.. maingay din po yan...
one time na nag rent sakin INC 10 Generators bet. D hamak na mas tahimik pa yung Generators namin kesa sa Denyo... it is because ang gamit namin na mufflers is the residential type...
pag dating naman po sa price... almost the same na din ang price nung brandnew na China made cummins.. sa surplus na denyo...
And a brand new weichai genset is much cheaper pa tha a 2nd hand Denyo...

July 20th, 2014 12:27 PM #419Dang, hindi na pala pwedeng i edit yung old posts.
Anyway, in relation to my post above, i'd like to add the following info:
1) I am from Paranaque area, Metro Manila
2) I will be using the genset only pag nag blackout sa pinas due to typhoon/etc. (For the past years, this averages around 1x to 2x blackouts a year and the length of blackout is around 1day to 3days)
3) I am still unsure if I should go diesel or gas but since I will only be using this for 1 to 2 times a year, then let's not factor in the savings I will get from using diesel fuel cost. Mostly choosing diesel vs gas is for safety purposes only.
Some questions: (sorry madami akong tanong kasi im just learning about this today)
1) With my requirements stated above and sa previous post ko, should I go gas or diesel? branded or china? Para kasing nanghihinayang ako bumili ng Honda kung gagamitin ko lang ng 1 to 2x a year.
2) If I get gas, I plan to run the generator once a month for 10minutes so that soot will not take place sa carburator (is this enough?).
How will you fix this?
4) If i buy a diesel generator, I don't need to let it run once/twice/etc a month since wala naman syang carburator? Is this right? Pwede bang patakbuhin yung generator pag nag blackout nalang like 2x a year or kelangan pa din patakbuhin sya on a monthly/weekly basis?
5) Is it ok not to store gas at home and just to buy it sa gas station pag nag blackout na? This will solve the disadvantage ng gas generators na "dangerous to store gas as it is highly flammable".
6) How dangerous are gas generators ba realistically? Pwede ba etong sumabog and sunugin yung bahay? Like if we leave it on for the night and matulog na kami? Kelangan may nagbabantay ba palagi?
7) I've read sa forums na ok na din daw yung China generators pero mostly this applies to the big ones (over 10kva or P100T+) and not the portable ones for home use (1kva to 7kva generators).
8) If ok na din yung China portable generators, can you list the top3 China generator available dito sa Pinas. Hopefully yung madaming pyesa para pag nasira, no problem ipaayos.
9) Meron ba kayong alam na ok na store sa south area (paranaque/las pinas/alabang/etc) that sells Branded or China generators na ka presyo lang ng Quiapo/Raon/Etc? (or near their price) Malayo daw kasi talaga presyo sa malls right?
Target ko kasi for the generator to last at least 10 years with minimal maintenance and minimal risk safety wise. (with the least cost). Tingin ko minimum watts that I need is 5500watts. The more, the better pero I don't want to get to the 10kva area since malaki na ang price jump neto.

hindi ba open type China gensets binebenta mo?
maybe you're talking about open type gensets kaya you're only talking about muffler
i'm talking about gensets with soundproofing enclosure
Japan silent gensets have far better quality enclosures than China gensets
kahit hindi Denyo. kahit ibang brand like Komatsu
ABSCBN / GMA gumagamit ng brand new Komatsu gensets pang location shooting
150kva or bigger ang tahimik
