There's only 2 university in this country, UST and OTHERS TS, you make your choice.

Couple of times i had a hard time promoting my pinoy engineers as HR normally would question their school of origin. If their not in the top 300 universities listed in the world, start to prepare my rebuttal.

A good University is a like a gold card that almost guarantee you easy job entry after graduation. After your first job what kind of worker you are is what determines where you go next. I'd pick a strongly driven individual over a good University anytime of the day. Grit is what I look for, because I know that person will deliver.

It really matters, education plays a very important role in our life, that which transforms a person to live a better life and even in a social well being. The more you have knowledge the more you grow.

Between a strongly driven individual from a so-so school and a strongly driven individual from a good university, sinong pipiliin mo?

Ang daya naman ng comparison kasi ng comparison. Pag galing magandang university, wala nang grit? Di na masipag?

I didn't say that, kahit ordinaryong unibersidad or top University basta character niya ay di sumusuko sa challenge sa work pasado sa akin.

It is not where you came from but where you are going. It is in a person's character and experience on the job. You can have a lazy genius or a rude holder of a PhD, he still won't make a good employee nor a good manager. Good customer relations is not learned at school.

Noone ever said that it ends at graduating from a good university, but it's a good start.

Ang akin lang, getting in a good college means that you made the most of your grade school and high school education. UP, Ateneo, and La Salle have much harder entrance tests than the other universities. Top universities abroad are even more difficult to get into.

Graduating from a top university means that you survived the school's rigorous curriculum (they wouldn't be granted Center of Excellence status if their curriculum was easy). This is a display of your intelligence, hard work, or both.

Chances are, if you did well in your formative years, you can do well in the workplace.

Of course, all bets are off when it comes to business - school teaches us to be good employees, but not much is taught on how to be good entrepreneurs. For that, experience, determination, and innate acumen is still the key.

That said, few people go straight into business after graduation. Even my friends who could've simply entered their big family businesses after college have opted to gain corporate experience first, and coming from a good school helps getting a good job.

Sure, after your first job, the school advantage dwindles, but imagine how many years of climbing up the ladder you save because you were able to start a bit higher than the rest.

It is a good start but that's not all of it. The sum of all the parts equals the whole. Attitude still plays a big part.

Kaya nga..attitude plays a big part, but so does education.

2 applicants, both fresh grads, both with equally good attitudes, yung isa galing good school yung isa hindi. Don't tell me na sa mata ng kumpanya pareho lang yan.
