I lived in Montalban, which sounds like a hilltop suburb in California, "even if I can afford a house in Dasma". Kasi dito sa Montalbs overlooking the hills(dumpsite), and it always awaken my senses. Wala naman ganon sa forbes.
I drive a 4x2 multicab "even though I can afford Land Rover" kasi of no use sa akin yun hill descent control ng mga LR, once nabawasan na yun mga plastic garbage, hindi na ganon kataas yun hills dito. Sayang yun off road capabilities.
My eldest son is currently in boarding school. "even if I can afford to send him to IS in the Fort" I send him to the Farm in batangas.(not the one in San Benito). Kasi yun school sa the Farm he masters in applied mathematics, counting real live farm animals, not like those in IS counting animals that are just drawing on paper.
My bunso always stays in his crib made by my kumpare using some used bamboos, "even if I can afford to have Kenneth Cobunpue custom made me a rattan crib". Uso naman shabby chic diba?
My wife and I use matching his and hers shocking yellow rubber strap watches "even though I can afford a Rolex". Kasi madali kami makita ng bunso namin na nasa balcony ng bahay namin while doing our work on top of the hills. Only when rolex starts making loud color watches will I buy a Rolex.
Regarding credit card meron din ako nun, pero I set it to personal limit of 200pesos "even though my credit limit is way above that" kasi payag naman si Aling Marsing na umutang sa sari-sari store niya lagpas sa 500pesos. Yun lang credit card (index card) iwan ko sa kanya pagkapirma ko.
And I only use my credit card "even if I can afford to to pay in cash" kasi yun mga bonds ko( coupon bonds, newspaper, cartons) hindi pa nagmamature (basa di pwede ipakilo).
Oh kulang pala ng G yun name ko, Dong Pancho pala tama, I'm from Cebu napadpad lang sa Manila " even though I can afford to go to the US"..
Tama na, baka may magalit na.

Even though we can afford a ford everest 4x4 but we still settle in 4x2 xlt mt because our preferred manual transmission 4x4 is not available..
