ang nakakatawa sa mga ganito, iba iba ang definition nila ng "cancelled". konting hintay lang nandyan na naman yang mga bus ni claire dela fuente. makakahanap na naman yan ng butas para makabyahe.

Claire de la Fuente appeals cancellation of bus franchise

MANILA, Philippines – Singer-turned-businesswoman Claire de la Fuente has denied any involvement in the bus strike last November that left thousands of commuters stranded on Metro Manila’s roads.
De la Fuente, owner of Philippine Corinthian Liner Corp., on Thursday asked the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board to reverse its decision to cancel the franchise of the 107 buses her company owns.
In her motion for reconsideration, De la Fuente said the cancellation of her bus franchise was “baseless and malicious,” adding that the LTFRB merely wanted to make an example out of her to scare smaller operators into following the regulator’s wishes.
“We agree that a franchise is a privilege granted to [Philippine Corinthian], subject to restrictions imposed by law and public interest. But it cannot be withdrawn on a whimsical, arbitrary, capricious and baseless manner,” said lawyer Harry Roque, whom De la Fuente hired to handle the case.
Roque questioned the LTFRB’s decision, saying it singled out De la Fuente’s company for franchise cancellation while smaller companies were given lighter penalties.
He said the LTFRB’s move showed that De la Fuente was made an example because she was the industry’s “poster girl.”
Roque presented records from the Metro Manila Development Authority showing that all Philippine Corinthian buses, except those that were covered by the number-coding scheme that took effect on the day of the strike, plied their respective routes.
But LTFRB board member Manuel Iway said De la Fuente failed to present these documents when hearings on the case were being held. Furthermore, Iway said the LTFRB had its own documents, as well as records also culled from the MMDA, which showed that all of De la Fuente’s buses participated in the strike.
“She never denied joining the strike,” Iway said.
