something that small... even the best of hospitals do miss them.
especially if the patient is a kid. kids sometimes lack the ability to communicate exactly how they feel.
sometimes, it is the physician's experience and insight, that gets it right. sometimes.

i know how it feels. it feels... confusing. even with all them medical books!
i once passed out a rice grain-sized stone myself.

I'm also scared of kidney stones. I see to it that I drink 2 litres of water at a minimum. My regular is 3 litres. When I was working out it was 4 litres a day

How do I go back to my weight 10 yrs ago I think low carb really works but I get withdrawal symptoms when I quit sugar. I also hate when ketosis starts like the breath and sweating (I attempted Cohen for a week hehe)

They actually saw some swelling and signs of a stone passing through the tube that connects the kidney and bladder via ct scan (which the surgeon requested in lieu of referring us to someone who could give a 2nd opinion). Traces of blood were also in the urine upon confinement (which they attributed to UTI). However, when we asked if it has to do with the tummy ache, 2 pedias said it was highly unlikely to be the cause since the abdomen and the kidneys are separate systems. It was more of an incidental finding they said.

Good thing we didn't agree to the operation right then and there. It would've been a terrible experience for a 7-yr old -- not to mention a waste of time and money.

Anyways, thanks for the kind words people.
At least we found some good pediatricians and ones that we should avoid.

If you dont have any exercise, just eat close to your bmr(calories doing nothing) your daily normal activity like working, walking, standing up and eating, will create a caloric deficit.....and yes digesting will burn calories too...to know your bmr heres a calculator
    BMR Calculator

If you want to eat more, you need to add output or activity...

For what exactly, he didn't say plus he was kind of an a-hole when we said we couldn't afford him. Since the surgeon wasn't accredited with our hmo, we sought a 2nd opinion and with the help of our hmo's liason officer, found medical center Muntinlupa and arranged for a hospital transfer. While waiting for the transfer to push through last sunday, my son peed out a black shard of something smaller than a grain of rice. It was a kidney stone. Long story short, my son had a kidney stone and did not need an operation. He's now an outpatient under the care of a pedia-nephrologist now.
i was thinking what if they proceed with the operation. at nasan ang ethics ng duktor na iyon to tell that you can't afford him.
glad to hear that your son is ok now.
