Lotto winners (especially yung mga nangaling sa wala) don't make their fortunes last. Just like basketball players and celebrities... Quick money kasi dosen't teach you to preserve it unlike money mad in business na alam mong mahirap kaya matindi ang preservation dito...

July 7th, 2010 06:30 PM #54I have this friend, yun dad niya retired at the age of 35. I believe his dad is into forex trading and is earning quite a lot dahil grabe magrelease ng pera. Konting ungot lang nung tropa ko binigyan kagad ng pera para magfranchise ng mga negosyo!
At that point in time I believe na sila ang definition ko ng mayaman. Anyway, medyo affected daw sila ng financial crisis last year. Hindi ko lang alam kung gaano ka-apektado.
I also know this guy who earns 150 k daily with one of his businesses. With a stroke of luck, this guy, used to be a "kargador" sa palengke become one of the wealthiest in that town after about 20 yrs.

July 7th, 2010 06:31 PM #55that's how rich roll.
i know some people napaka rich nila as in. pero they roll in a middle-class vehicles.
dati si henry sy. nung 80's makikita mo lang sa quiapo naka sando (parang pahinante) di alam ng iba siya may ari ng sm dun.
for me,
rich ka kung:
marunong ka mag-ipon
magaling ka magtipid (kuripot)
madiskarte
matiyaga.
kung ano meron, makuntento.
etc.
kaya ako sabi ko lagi sa gf ko ako hahawak ng sweldo mo. kasi wala kang control sa pera puro gastos.

I agree.
Sa offshore banks yung mga high net worth clients may personal banker who will go to them when they need to make a transaction.
May ibang offshore banks din na walang retail banking/branch sa Manila. If you want a private account with them you have to go to SIngapore and the ADB is 20 million ata.

Mga $1M pwede na magbukas ng offshore account... Matindi narin kasi competition ng mga private banks given the wealth destruction created by the 2008 and the on going Great Recession...
