I don't think you're alone in that opinion of the film being weird
What I appreciate in a film kasi is direction or writing. I guess that's why I was able to overlook the strangeness of the film. I'm such a big fan of KubrickHe's a brilliant director. The best films in my opinion are those that are written and directed by the same person eg Cameron Crowe and Sofia Coppola

If you want titles. Try these:
Bach - brandenburg concerto
Chopin - nocturnes
Rachmaninov - piano concerto no 2 and 3
Mozart - symphony 40 (gasgas)

How about films that had one person writing, directing and starring? Like those made by Woody Allen, Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton and Orson Welles.

Woody Allen - I am not a fan but my ex is. I have to say that he does write great dialogue.
Charlie Chaplin - Universally regarded as a genius
Orson Welles - CITIZEN KANE! AFI's all time greatest film.
Buster Keaton - not familiar but I will look it up.

Btw did u know that Adolf Hitler was an admirer of Wagner's music and saw in his operas an embodiment of his own vision of the German nation?... :diablo:
