Should be views. Usually subs and views are correlated but it's views that are directly connected to Adsense income.
Kahit same number ng subs if one has more views per video and frequency of videos, that will typically have higher income.
Quality of content and demographic reach also matters. A video with 500k views but reaches professionals will have higher ad rates and chances of sponsorship vs 1M views na puro squammy nanonood.

Saka paano mo nalaman yun lang source of income nila?

So far lahat ng personally kakilala ko na nagtry magvlog wala pang kumikita enough to leave their day job.
Iba iba topic yung iba travel vlog, yung iba gaming streams, yung iba reviews, and so on.
Super low success rate to get to a million views, and those who get there pour in so much effort and time to produce and edit videos regularly.
So congrats to those who are successful (yung iba claiming to be successful lang) but it's really difficult to get there and sandali lang ang shelf life.

Same risk as pagaartista with equally low chances of success. Siyempre ang nakikita lang is yung sumikat na but for every Youtuber with a million views per video, meron diyan hundreds lang kahit anong effort.

Saw this interesting video on esports:
How To Be A Pro Gamer: Inside The World Of Professional Esports | On The Red Dot | Full Episode - YouTube
Talagang career siya for some, 15 hrs per day of gameplay to become competitive.
The guy in the video has 1.3M subs and earns about 10-15k SGD per month on streaming and YouTube. Pero alam niya rin na short-lived lang yung career and he only has about 3-4 years left before retirement.
May pera? Yes, for a few. Sustainable? Most likely not.

Supercar Blondie i think actually thrives on sponsorships instead of the views itself. hahahaha nakita mo ba mga dinadrive niya mygosh. The views drive the sponsorships kaya minsan may ads "This video is sponsored by blahblah". Same sa mga tech guru sa yt like MKBHD. Or yung mga weird content channels like MrBeast na nagtatapon ng pera from sponsorships
