    Celine Dion has been diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS), which causes her muscles to tense uncontrollably.

    The condition ultimately leaves sufferers as 'human statues' as it progressively locks the body into rigid positions, ultimately leaving people unable to walk or talk.

    While there is no cure for the condition, there are treatments to slow down the progression, with Celine revealing she is doing all she can to minimise symptoms.

    The 54-year-old singer addressed her fans in a tearful Instagram post on Thursday as she revealed it has forced her to cancel her European tour.

    not sure if it's connected but she's reed thin nowadays. actually i think she began growing slim when her husband passed away several years ago. she always declared that he was the only love she ever had. i guess a part of her died along w/ him....if that makes any sense.

    i do not know specifically for SPS, but
    any illness, disease, psychological condition or situation that depresses the urge to eat, will result in thin-ness.
    wilful denial to eat, i.e., dieting, also does that.
    hypermetabolism also causes weight loss.
