Well since I don't have the $$$ money yet to get the grill I want, I decided to do a DIY on it to get rid of the bling from the billet grill.
What it was before.
After some painting and removal of the billet grill.
With the billet grill and painting. The lines visible behind the grill don't show when you are just looking at it from a distance.
Finishing up the last touch of blacking out the bottom part below the plates and will decide if it looks better without the grill. So far my daughter likes it better without the grill.Last edited by redorange; August 18th, 2009 at 09:09 PM.

i think this looks cleaner. i think billet works usually for trucks or suvs. painting the bottom black will work too. then match it with 20s or 22s black/polished wheels.

Just finished the bottom yesterday and I'll try to get pics posted. MXFX where did you buy the trim rings you used for your car? Might just go with that for now and lose the hubcaps. If it was my car this thing would be all satin black by now to give it the stealth look. If I ever find an SRT-8 it's getting painted black.

got them from local auto store (kragens). the 15in rings cost i think $12 a piece. if not, ebay and internet stores sell more expensive ones (mine feels like plastic) but usually with better quality.
here's one for $45 plus s/h a set:

Video of a Magnum SRT-8 doing 190.200mph/306.097kph at the Texas Mile or 1.6km. That's a over 4000lb station wagon doing almost 200mph.
So much power can't even get traction at the start, a Toyota Supra did 243mph in the same event.

Only about 100mph here since there are no freeways or any real long stretch of road, that and the damn thing is a 2.7 V6 and needs to be at 6500rpm for it's max horsepower doesn't really help in getting any top speed. You can get the tuner for the X to get rid of your speed limiter.
