December 22nd, 2004 04:23 PM #265afaik, it's the policy of ford/mazda to honestly declare the unit as brand new or test drive unit. those test drive units have stickers and have individual records/history. if the dealers are declaring the dealers test drive (showroom) units as brand new, then that's against the policy of ford/mazda.
it's also against the policy of ford/mazda to disconnect any sensor/odometer just for the purpose of test drive including those test units from the assembly plant. test units from assembly plant have stickers indicating that those units were picked ramdomly for quality inspection (that includes test drive which is not more than 100km and declared as brand new) and ford/mazda stickers are sticked to the units stating that that units had undergone a test drive inspection and km reading is also stated in the documents. in the philippines, only ford/mazda is doing this test drive outside the assembly plant to make sure that all the units given to the dealers have passed the required quality standard.
