    Sir LRTan,

Ask ko sana where the mounting bracket for you nexus 7 is attached? The windshield or the dashboard?
Also what app do you use for gps navigation?
    TIA :-)

Regarding the backup camera. If the HU has connections for this. There should be aftermarket cameras available for about 4k or less, including installation na. That's what I did with our montero. I went to banawe and had one installed. You just have to tell the installer to be careful not to scratch or stain the interior coz they have to open it up to conceal the wires that will be running from the back of your car to the HU in front. And since the camera is so small and light, you can just use 3m automotive double sided adhesive tape to secure it to the car, no need to screw it, malinis pa. It wont fall off naman since there is a wire connected to it. Hope this helps.

The 2.5L version will be a welcome addition to the available variants of the CX-5. I hope it also includes other features that are available in the U.S. like the leather seats, adaptive front lighting system, smart city brake support system and others.

Sir JohnM. Did they says when it will be coming? What month? This year or next year?

Here is the update on the rear cam. I had to go back to the dealership to sign a doc they forgot to let me sign the other day .. fortunately my unit is still there so I asked if the cam is already installed. When they said it is, i asked to see it. How did they install? Installed the cam at the lower white portion of the bumper. It is a black circle size of a five-peso coin. I have to see how this looks with the sensors installed. I think senors are also in black (forgot to ask) .. now the tricky part, true that they dont need to replace the HU but they installedd something on top of the rearview mirror with this dual purpose gadget that acts as mirror and cam viewer .... i wasnt able to inspect much bec I am in a hurry. Much to say i was not able to take pic .... SA said it is the same cam they install in other models. I had to let it go until the time i get to test it. I'll hold back in my comments for this time. First impression isnt that good. But i'll wait until everything is installed ... will keep everyone posted!

I think that's good enough but what bothers me is that they had to drill a hole in the bumper when the OEM cams (based on the Mazda Canada manual) are just direct replacements of one of the license plate lights. Mazda Makati also showed us the mirror that clips on to the original mirror and IMO that's a good compromise compared to replacing the OEM HU.

Third quarter daw. Berjaya has a rep in Malaysia that manages the Mazda Phil Official FB page. Her email address is posted there somewhere and you can send her your queries directly. That's how my dad confirmed the waiting time for the blue MT.

Your dash is looking good. You gave me a idea. Aside from gps could be an alternative for watching movies while stuck in traffic. Haha!

Saw an article in top gear phils that there are upgrades in cx5 including the HU. The new HU makes you receive sms and read emails. Also it's voice activated. Cool right? Question is if it will be avail here

    What is a weathertech liner?
Yup, thats what i do when stuck in traffic, catch up on my fave sitcoms and movies.

You can check the weathertech liners here: https://www.facebook.com/WeatherTechPhilippines

The mounting bracket i got from concorde, kinda expensive almost 2k ata. But it can be glass mounted or mounted to the dash (which i did) it comes with a mounting circular plate that has a double sided 3m sticker. I'll take pics when i get the chance and post it here. Regarding the rear cam, the cheaper once are 2.5k lang ata. Thats why i am verifying if it works with the OEM HU that comes with our CX5

Ahh, as long as it doesn't look out of place with our interior i guess this setup will be ok. Thanks for keeping us posted
