May 29th, 2010 06:31 PM #843good day everyone. i went to teknika fairview earlier for a second opinion and to have my b2500 checked ksi nagkaroon ako ng problema na hirap ma start kapag nabakante ng 1 day. ksi kapag iniistart nag reredondo naman pero after try ulit.humihina then eventually hanggang clicking sound nalang. then no choice ako kundi kadyotin
napacheck ko na carbon brass.. solenoid.. then new kht glow plugs.. starter is ok.. same with electircals. question ko lang with you guys... can a cause of white smoke after engine start be bad injectors? sabi ng taga teknika kahit raw may problema injectors magistart pa rin itim lang usok.
nag pa palit na rin ako ng fuel filter kanina then hindi ko iistart sasakyan ko til tomorrow morning kung ganun pa rin issue. sa tingin nyo guys it's really the injectors are the culprit?
if so... anung type ng injectors meron ang mga b2500? hindi ako mabigyan ng estimate ksi hindi ma confirm ng taga teknika ang injectors ko. and most likely how much ang magiging costs? sksi yung taga teknika ayaw tignan.
hoping for some feedback about this from you guys. thanks.
regards,
carbuncle

Dear carbuncle:
The issue of white smoke depends on how much and how long it continues.
If immediately after you start it clears up, then the problem may not be that serious.
Even if it continues but is not that thick - it still may not be that serious.
I remember my good friend Fred who has an Isuzu 2.8 Turbo pickup experienced that even when his truck was brand new.
He would start up cold and for about 30 minutes to an hour the pickup would spew a thin white cloud of smoke - especially on idle, after the engine heated up, the smoke would disappear - parang naninigarilyo yung makina.
However, if it continues for a long time and it blots out the sun, you probably have a nasty problem - malamang, loose compression na sya - if so, condolences pre'.
I remember when my glow plugs failed, I had to crank the engine for a few minutes before it would start, and then there would be a great cloud of greyish-white smoke spuming from the engine - that however cleared immediately.
If that happens, baka glow-plug system problem pa din.
Did you actually physically test the glow plugs - check my old posts for the procedure.
Again if you need to have your injection system checked out, I recommend 2 places:
1) Central Diesel Clinic - along Quezon Ave near Capitol Medical.
2) DRT - along Shorthorn road, lampas ng Road 20, malapit sa tulay.
You can get the contact numbers by reading my older posts - nawawala ang phone book ko.

Dear Guys:
Another great EB! Greetings and salutations to all who went.
To those who couldn't come - you were all sadly missed.
Once again, thanks for your loyalty and enthusiasm. Mazda pickup's rule!
As many people seemed interested in having their mufflers replaced, once again I will post the name and place to go.
The shop is called SMT (Sison-Mercado Trading) operated by Mang Tony Sison - that's Antonio Q. Sison to the unfamiliar.
He's a native of Abra (Yup Ilocano - the nicest one I've ever met!) and his wife is a native of Batangas - how they met I'll never know.
I first went to the shop back in 1980 - (guess kung gaano ka-tanda na ako!).
Now it's an entire family operation, with his sons helping out - Mon and Charles.
It's along Mascardo St. in Makati - (I understand that Ronn is a regular customer) - near Vito Cruz extension and Arte Espanol (a furniture shop) and the Philippine Daily Inquirer offices.
If you have your mufflers replaced, remember for a B2500 the standard size is 26 inches long X 9 inches wide X 6 inches high.
Pipe sizes going in and out are 2 inches (inside diameter).
Go for the TURBO design of Cherry Bomb (that's a famous US muffler making Company), which he makes very well.
Still if you have a turbo, its always good to get Mang Tony's opinion, on what muffler is best, he may have a few tricks up his sleeve.
As of now I have a round section muffler (20 inches long and 6 inches around) built like the one for Isuzu trucks.
In my opinion, I lost a lot of torque (and maybe fuel economy) with this design on my naturally-aspirated (sa Tagalog 'walang turbo' arte ko talaga) engine - although I am keeping it for when I go for a turbo-diesel motor.
If you have a non-turbo like mine you probably better off with the TURBO design I mentioned.
Kung may turbo ka well - I consider Mang Tony's opinion and experience authoritative.
Once again for one and all - thanks for the patronage - and
"KEEP ON TRUCKING!!!"
Best Regards,
Dusky Lim

* binder
walang masyadong aksyon kanina dahil bloody hell ang init unlike nun mga nakaraang EB. sana pumunta ka.
yes, SMT is well recommend with regards to muffler, headers and intkaes. i've been reading some of their work and the customers is very satisfied. may term is sa paggastos which is "kamot". kulet ng term..so kamot lang sila ng kamot sa mga kotse nila. i'm planning to have my headers and mufflers at SMT. marami kasing natutuwa sa trabaho nila, as mentioned ni sir dusky, if im not mistaken eh haigh palang si master eh laman na sya ng SMT. hehehe.
* ronn
langya nakalimutan kong kunin sayo yun shiftknob...nawala sa isip ko. next time na meet up natin.
