Nah, my old dad has maintained hondas and toyotas. By far the 1st gen Mazda3 proved to be the most durable among those toyota/honda cars we have maintained for the past 20+ years [emoji16]
We have a friend mechanic from Honda. He would tell us horrific stories of cvt issues with recent Honda car models, o2 sensor issues, etc.

You can try customer.service _at_ mazda.ph
Contact Us | Mazda Philippines – Get ready to zoom zoom!
Archerfish's recommendations on raising your concerns to the mazda casa is the best option you can go for now. If their response is unsatisfactory then the next step would be to send your concerns to the mazda customer service email.

Toyotas we've had have generally been consistent w/ durability. The Hondas were not. CVTs we won't give a 2nd glance.
Skyactivs are our 1st Mazda experience. The 3, on our 5th year, has gone beyond expectations, positively. For those who haven't tried, check this lil Nippon badge out. The current models have been well embraced...even in the US.

My positive experience with the 1st gen Mazda3 plus your positive testimonials in this forum convinced me to go for the skyactiv [emoji106] I might have bought a Subaru if not for this forum [emoji12]
Hopefully doc's case is an unfortunate and unusual case of mechanic service quality issue. It's something that can happen to any car brands, not unique to Mazda.

November 7th, 2018 08:09 PM #3067Try having it serviced on a different casa doc? Might need second opinion.

November 7th, 2018 08:24 PM #3068+1 i hope it is just an isolated case. So far my M3 Skyactiv experience has been very solid and beyond expectation. It’ll be 1yr this coming Nov17 and clocked around 14k km with no issues so far.
Unforeseen issues that saddled docs M3 could also happen to any car brand.

November 7th, 2018 08:39 PM #3069Ive been lurking other forums and even overseas, mine might be just an isolated case.
I cant deny that I really fell in love with this skyactiv mazda, it’s just being ruined by the consistent problems my m3 is having.
Have done my research before I bought this vehicle and reliability issues with the cvt shooed me from buying any vehicle that has it (subarus, toyotas, hondas). Was almost inclined to buy a montero but the way the mazda hb looked swayed me to buy the m3. Ill try and talk to the sales rep as well, he could probably help me out a bit. Even he had that look of concern when he saw me for the nth time at the casa last week.

November 7th, 2018 08:41 PM #3070Sir travajante, am suspecting its the stretchfit belt. Ill probably ask them to check it again or probably pay for its replacement. I cant wait another 4 mos for the plant’s approval. My patience had already gone thin and I want to enjoy my m3!!
