So Mazda SkyActiv can run fine on 91 octane, but ethanol in the fuel? It's too early to see M3 SkyActiv engines manifesting issues with it, we will probably know after 5 years. Perhaps at that point the internal combustion engine is busted and we will just drive electric cars [emoji16]
This is interesting. What fuel do you use sir?

Politics, protection of corn farmers & its lobbying may be the primary reasons for the ammendments in the US Clean Air Act way back '90s. Though there is no visible intent to reverse, the lobbying remains...
Ethanol Producer Magazine – The Latest News and Data About Ethanol Production
Now, lemme throw you this question: WHY did Ph, not a corn growing nation, follow the US?
Do you know we have to import ethanol to blend w/ petrol since our ethanol production from sugarcane and molasses is currently not enough?
In 2015, 8 ethanol plants with a combined capacity of 222 million liters (58.65 million gallons) were operating to produce 168 million liters of ethanol, up 46 percent when compared to the 115 million liters produced in 2014. Still far from enough. Still importing.
Ph fuel ethanol imports, reached 339 million liters in 2014, fell 8 percent in the last Q of 2015, reaching 311 million liters. Imports from the U.S. fell by an estimated 28 percent, from 246 million liters in 2014 to 178 million liters in 2015. That year, the U.S still accounted for 57 percent of total fuel ethanol imports, down from 73 percent in 2014.

Back to the question.....WHY???? Conspiracy theories will connect these 2 facts: Ethanol production is big business & our congress is packed w/ 'geniuses'.[emoji17]
And, you know why Blaze has no ethanol? Coz Ramon Ang, a mech engineer, collector & enthusiast, knows what his cars won't need.[emoji12]

But but Mazda recommends Shell FuelSave with 10% bioethanol. So probably Mazda thinks that the bioethanol's effect to the SkyActiv engine and fuel supply lines is negligible?

Mazda gave us & the US their 13:1 compression ratio version to take regular fuel octane coz these markets are cost & FC conscious. Mazda & every other carmaker out there have no choice but to build cars w/ better alcohol tolerance.....Still, no ethanol is better for cars. It's hygroscopic, too. Retains water in our fuel tanks.[emoji35]
In 1 of our older cars we're keeping, I've had to change fuel delivery components a coupla times. That's the ethanol effect.[emoji17]

How old is your other car?

We have a 1st gen 20yo CRV that's been using FuelSave since its release. So far we haven't seen obvious issues with the fuel supply system or corrosion within the engine. Perhaps this is something we need to check further.

I've observed Nippon cars to be more tolerant. Have a coupla 22year old japs (One recently sold in minutes after I decided to let go...classic). The car that gets easily tipsy is a 16yr old euro.

I've read about cleaner deposit from Mazda and is intended for the gasoline variant. This is perhaps the reason why this thing is part of maintenance.

Sirs, aside from Mikstore, are there any shops you can recommend for accessories? Eyeing first a plate relocator, no drill kit if possible.
