Buy a CX9 for what it is, just like buying an Explorer. They are big comfortable crossovers. Don’t bother with resale value.

In the Philippines, the cars which has high resale value are subcompact cars (with displacements 1.5L or less), diesel-fed MPVs, and diesel-fed PPVs. Gas-fed SUVs (full, mid, compact) and gas-fed midsize sedans are the bottom of the list for resale value.

Local LC200 resale is nuts. Might be the one with the best. Also pickups and vans.

Can get an 8m S class sold in 2015 for 3.3m now. Or even less. Low mileage examples. Perfect example .

Not everyone gets to buy an LC200 but it does keep its resale value. For the price of an LC200, you can buy a Fortuner, Innova, and Altis. Baka may sukli ka pa!

The resale value of large luxury sedans such as the S-class, 7 series, or A8 are fairly bad

Luxury sports cars tend to have much better resale value for some reason. A 4 year old Boxster probably sold for P6M is still P4M+. An 8 year old Z4 probably sold for 3.7M is still 2.3M
