Sky-active engine kasi M3 which is touted to be fuel efficient & powerful. But currently, the trend to make gasoline engines more efficient is reducing the displacement & adding a turbocharger, reducing the number of cylinders or hybridization. I think engineers have reached that point where they can do no more hence, electrification is the next step in automotive evolution. This would be great for a CX9 but Mazda isn’t really getting on that bandwagon. Mauunahan pa ng Geely & the Koreans who, I read, are not really doing much into improving their current engine line up but the research is into developing their electric cars.

May 1st, 2021 03:07 AM #92Whats a fair price kaya for a used current gen cx9? Cheapest i found in fb marketplace is around 1.7m and seems to me still no taker.
Say one buys it now for 1.7m, how much kaya selling price nia in 5years?
My body that needs a comfortable car wants a cx9. My mind tells me to choose between a prado or fj so i dont lose as much money overtime.

FJ has huge blind spot ... Prado 2nd hand is still priced high ... but buy a vehicle for your needs and satisfaction ... would not factor in resale value too much ... you can try one of those cheap flagship german sedans with air suspensions for ultimate comfort ... A8L, S350 / S500 ... or a Porsche Cayenne 1st gen with air suspension ...

He's leaning towards resale. FJs have been holding well. Personally, I prefer the bare basic 120 over the 150. Currently priced like compacts, a lot of car for the money. Those euro-premiums? I love to look at them....owning is a matter totally not for me. CX9 ownership will be way easier & migraine-free.[emoji16]

May 2nd, 2021 02:02 PM #98If resale is a top priority then the Diesel Prado can probably holds its value better than the other choices. The FJ does hold it value well too.
Another option is a Lexus RX350. not as good a resale as a diesel prado but you get both luxury, power and a Lexus/toyota resale boost.

May 2nd, 2021 02:32 PM #99Dont bother with a cx9 if resale value is anywhere in your list of priorities.
You will buy it for the driving experience and understated luxury.

Kung resale value with a budget of around 1.7M, then better go with a Fortuner or Innova.
Don’t bother with any Mazda or any gas-fed crossover.
