I got my White MT yesterday, no waiting at all.

First impressions after driving it home to Subic: Quick and agile but a bit down on power, and the body roll is more than what I expected

SLK 320 feels solid and planted on the road while the MX5 feels light and nimble, surprisingly matching the acceleration of the 3.2 V6 car but feels much more agile. Click image for larger version.

I didn't try the AT since Mazda doesn't allow road tests plus mine seems to have been the only unit available at the time I bought it. From what I read in the various reviews and forums, the AT is even more economical that the MT and just about as quick. I guess if you'll be using it mostly in Manila traffic then the AT makes more sense but it's 180k more expensive.

The clutch in the MT is very light and easy to modulate, and the shifter is absolutely sweet. The body roll is apparently designed to heighten the sensation of speed and by now i'm used to it

After almost 2 weeks of driving it hard (new toy). I'm amazed to see it's getting 9 liters/100 km (approx 11 kpl) which to me is amazing. The one negative I found is that the NAV doesn't work and there's no OFF switch to the sound system. Weird

thank you for this very valuable information, especially about the clutch of the MT. a fellow tsikoter who must have driven the AT posted in this thread that it has a little lag or in his word "it sucks."

yes, it's true mazda won't allow road testing. i asked once when they got a unit here. by the way, i'll use it in the province most of the time.

We've been waiting for that NAV card for years. Don't wait up for it

There's no sound system off switch but you can mute it and turn the screen off.

Nice, if I were 10 years younger, maybe, but just maybe.
