March 5th, 2014 12:25 PM #25Implement kaya nila ng lower than SkyActiv 1.5G ito? Ung Mazda 3 kasi offered with SkyActiv 1.5G on some markets, so I think kailangan nila ng smaller engine for this. Ung SkyActiv D, feeling ko di pa rin pupunta sa atin.

I think Mazda is pulling off a Benz/Audi/BMW thingy when it comes to the engine. That the 2,3 and 6 may share some engines as long as it fits the bay. Much like 330d, 530d, 730d even X3 or X5 may share the same 3.0L diesel engine, iba ibang class naman sila.
The 3, 6 and CX5 now shares 2.5L SkyActiv-G engine. The CX5 and 3, may also share a 2.0L engine. I dont see any reason the 1.5L may not be shared by the 2 and 3. They should offer a 1.3L SkyActiv-G though as currently fitted in JDM Demio units.

March 6th, 2014 12:26 PM #27That's what I am seeing sir basti08. The trend kasi na nakita ko is for a class lower, may same engine sa higher class then a lower engine. Like the 6 and cx-5 has 2.5 and 2.0, the 3 will have 2.0 (i dont think 2.5 will be offered in our market but I can be wrong) and possibly a 1.5 so I am guessing the 2 will have 1.5 and a lower 1.3 or maybe a 1.0...

They can't go wrong with the
Mazda 2 getting 1.3L and 1.5L
Mazda 3 1.5L and 2.0L
as-is with the current CX5 and Mazda 6 offerings.
They also need to give proper options to manual/matic tranny at least for the 1.3L and 1.5L engines. 2.0L could be defaulted with AT but in the CX5 should still offer MT, cos the Tucson, Sportage and CRV still comes with it.
