Nah. Mas ok pa rin ang NLEX-San Fernando-OG Road-Dinalupihan SCTEX-Subic. It's 30 km shorter so you save on fuel, and you save 200 pesos on toll.

Travel time is about the same - minsan mas mabilis sa SCTEX, minsan sa OG. Difference of about 5-15 min lang. Unless constant 120-140 takbo mo sa SCTEX, usually mas mabilis ang OG.

Only bottlenecks are in Lubao after the bypass road (about 3 km of slow moving traffic because the shoulder is being repaired) as well as Dinalupuhan where ginagawa yung daan and bridge.

I go to Subic on a weekly basis and I rarely use SCTEX anymore.

Sir jut familiar po kayo sa Mangrove Resort? Maganda ratings niya sa Agoda and planning to stay there sa summer. Ask ko lang sana any restaurant sa vicinity niya?

Have not stayed in Mangrove Resort kasi outside na siya of SBMA. Dun siya sa Subic Long Beach which is a few minutes away from the bustling SBMA where there are a lot of good restaurants.

Personally di ako nagagandahan sa beach ng Subic Long Beach (although not as bad as dun sa loob mismo ng SBMA). I'd rather go to Morong, Bataan (near Anvaya) or Nagsasa Cove, Zambales if you want a nice beach trip in the north near Subic.

Nope, not yet done. But as long as you don't travel during rush hours (i.e. Easter Sunday afternoon), it'll still be as fast as SCTEX.

Usually, when I leave Balintawak at 9am, I get to Subic at around 11-11:30.

Same here. I hardly take SCTEX except at the Dinalupihan - SBMA portion.

From subic, sctex tapos exit at porac passthrough megadike turn left sa jasa papunta sa san Fernando then turn right at MacArthur hiway then san Simon exit ng nlex.
