kayang-kaya yan kahit kuliglig pa dala mo normal lang yung mga incline sa route na to. just beware of the road/bridge works being carried out along the way especially in La Union dahil minimal kasi yung roadwork signages.

Agree, and if possible Day ka para you can enjoy the view. And if possible avoid Fastfood, along the way dami ka makakainan.. Enjoy your trip paps..

Sarap bumyahe pag weekday ng gabi!

Manila to Laoag in 5.5 hours (Vigan in 4.5 hours, San Juan LU in 3 hours). Left QC at 11:30pm and got to Laoag at 5am.

85 kph average speed (92 kph after exiting TPLEX Urdaneta, dropped to 85 upon reaching Laoag).

Di kailangan humataw and magredline, you can sustain 100-120 kph on McArthur because there aren't much cars to overtake.

Got 13 km/L, much much better than my previous trip na kasabay Holy Week traffic, 8.4 km/L lang kasi puro overtake na redline tapos preno. Travel time was much shorter too (5.5 hrs vs 9 hrs).

This is quite impressive Manila to Laoag in 5.5hrs?? Ano sasakyan kaya ginamit dito? My fastest trip from Pasig to Balaoan, La Union is 4hrs. I don't think I can make 1.5hrs from Balaoan to Laoag, that's more/less 180kms. In order for you to attain that 1.5hrs you must be running at 120kph consistently on that 180kms stretch...which is so impossible considering the curves & uneven roads.

Yes... straight lang... Kaya mo yan straight. Pit stop ka lang sa may Rosario, La Union bago mag-Baguio kasi medyo malayo na yung susunod na bukas na establishments. Meron Jollibee na bagong bukas dun. After mo mag-left going to La Union.

Mura pa ang gas dito.

just came back from Magsingal, Ilocos Sur yeterday (3rd town after Vigan). it took me 3-hours to reach my destination from Bauang, La Union (Sunday day-time traffic). the traffic on my way back is so horrible because of this roadworks/bridgeworks (ilocos sur and la union)... more than 4-1/2 hours drive for a merely 180 km distance! suggest to depart from manila at night for you to lessen your time on the road. drive safe and enjoy your trip.

Marami. Nothing you can do about it. There's no other way to Vigan without passing road constructions.

Even if you fly in from Laoag, the stretch from Laoag to Vigan still has a lot of road construction works.

Kaya yan noong may Philippine Rabbit pa 6hrs lang dadaan pa ng Dau yun umaalis kami ng 10PM sa Caloocan terminal nasa Laoag na kami ng 4AM more or less. Kumpare ko 7 hrs Novaliches to Claveria, Cagayan.

SCTEX/TPLEX at 160-200, McArthur Highway at 80-140 depending on which part. At night, there's zero traffic.

You just need to average 85 kph throughout the whole trip to make it to Laoag in 5.5 hrs from Manila.

You can do it with any car really. A Wigo will top out earlier in the expressway but can maintain the same speed as a faster car in a traffic-free McArthur Highway.
