September 28th, 2019 11:28 AM #31what did someone say?
"the gadget still has to be invented, that will effectively work against stupidity and plain hard-headedness."
some car buyers, one of the first things they try to figure out, is "how can i bypass this safety/security system?"

But that's not an excuse NOT to have the safety features. If car owners think that they know better, it's on them. Car manufacturers who add these features and the government agencies that bans modifications to safety features, can only do so much. But at least, their heart is in the right place.
For sensible adults, these features are a god-send... in more ways than one.

If a driver does not know or can't drive properly, would you let him drive? Answer is no, right? We keep saying "marunong lang humawak ng manibela nagka-license na." Yet here we are justifying idiot drivers. A driving license demands you to be responsible. Is leaving your kid or pet in the car on a hot summer day responsible? I say it is part of the total package, one that you cannot escape from, a responsibility that is demanded of you, the licensed driver, whether your car is a 1940s willys jeep or the latest artificial intelligence controlled flying car. If you truly deserve your license then you will not leave your kid in the car. No fncking excuses accepted.

How can you be the best driver in the world if you are not responsible for the occupants of your vehicle? So "driving" for you is just that, turn the steering and press the brakes and accelerator? Yun lang driver ka na? Why does the lto give written driving exams while by your definition it is enough to be skillful? Driving is 90% responsibility and 10% skill. A new driver crawling at 60kph on the right lane is a much better driver than the experienced idiot hogging the overtaking lane at 100kph. A new driver who puts his toddler in a car seat and later puts the baby in the shopping cart is a way better driver than one who can slalom in nlex or slex at 140 kph and leaves his baby in the car.
The word that defines "driver" is responsibility, not skill.

Yes, 100%. The driver is responsible for his passengers.
But the only thing you can do is to prosecute the driver for gross negligence.... it doesn't change the fact that a child died. You can no longer bring him/her back from the dead. It would've been preventable if there was a backup system that will alert the driver.Last edited by oj88; September 28th, 2019 at 01:21 PM.
