Test drive one sir and ask them bluntly about after sales service. Admittedly, they prolly won't stock a lot of spare parts because there is no demand for the Stinger here in Da Pilipins, but there are online sources as well, as I've learned myself having acquired my first KIA after a series of Toyotas.
If it sings to your heart and makes your blood run fast then what is another few hundred thousand for spare parts and accessories?

October 21st, 2019 09:06 AM #182The stinger is a great car that sadly has a very small market here. its not doing so great abroad as well. But technically it will hang with or sometimes beat a base Porsche Panamera in terms of performance. And the Stinger has a lot of cabin space. So yeah it definitely has the performance cred to back up its price.
At this price point, very few things are practical but this car actually is very practical. But i do get your point about spares and service and that has to be factored into your decision.
if you actually considered the FT86...might as well consider the Mustang GT. Tons of spares and service available everywhere. Performance, looks, gravitas, noise, tech, etc not in question. Though the rear jump seats are super cramped.....
Its a keeper and within the same price range as the Stinger if my memory serves me well.

Sparc179, istan, and I spent almost an hour test-driving the Stinger a few months back. We were all surprised and amazed in our experience with this sport sedan. My FXT felt tamed against the Stinger. I think the only other RWD sport sedan within its price is the Lexus IS350 but in terms of performance and interior space, the Stinger will trump the IS350. All other RWD sports sedan (mostly Euro) will cost a lot more. The old BMW 328i is a gem of a daily sports compact but it was priced more than 4M and it was just within the performance capability of the IS350.
The Stinger's size straddles between a Euro compact and a Euro midsize. It has the dimensions and interior space of a Japanese midsize, around similar proportions as a Mazda6. The only thing I find annoying is the small rear window. I have test driven also the new Mazda6 SkyActiv turbo and it didn't excite my senses as the Stinger - understandable as it is 1M cheaper than the Stinger.
If anyone is buying a Stinger, they should keep it. You will lose money if you sell it later on due to its brand name. By then, a lot of folks will be waiting to buy a used Stinger cheap and I maybe one of them.
If you are truly practical, for the same amount of money, you can buy two cars - a WRX MT for your weekend fun and track car plus an Innova as the family hauler.

The only negatives I’ve heard about this car is the badge & the price (not only in the Philippines). The others are all positives. Given the sales figures, I don’t see this surviving the chopping block. But, if I may be bold enough to predict, I think this car will eventually be one people will try to get their hands on in the future. A lot of people want it but don’t want to spend good money for it.

That is a fair assessment which a lot of people share as well sir Bloo. If it weren't for the logo on the hood and the steep asking, I think this would be in many garages. Sadly, they may have overachieved on this one.
I bet the second hand market will be great though. If one can wait that long.
